If a cow is pregnant for less than a month, and the calf is not fully born, it is called abortion, or miscarriage. There are many reasons for cow miscarriage. Cows are malnourished and frail; overexertion or heavy work during busy farming; careless feeding, eating moldy, rotten feed or poisonous weeds, drinking cold water in winter; improper management, making cows cold and hot, or whipping, falling, disease and so on may cause cow miscarriage. Therefore, after the cow is conceived, measures should be taken to prevent miscarriage and ensure the birth of a strong calf.

1. Improve the nutrition of pregnant cattle. After 3 months of conception, the cow should gradually increase its nutrition. After six months of pregnancy, the fetus grows and develops fastest and needs more nutrients. In addition to feeding grass, it is necessary to supplement feed containing more protein, such as broad beans, wheat bran, bean dregs, etc., and some salt should be added to the feed (about 30 grams per cow per day). And mineral feed such as bone meal. At the same time, we should pay attention to the cleanliness of the feed, rotten, moldy, frosty forage, can not feed cattle, too cold water not to drink, in order to avoid abortion and ensure the normal growth and development of the fetus.

2. Strengthen the management of pregnant cattle. Pregnant cows are best grazed alone or in groups. The enclosure of pregnant cattle should be spacious, dry, clean, well lit and well ventilated, which can withstand both winter and summer heat. Pregnant cattle in and out of the gate and grazing process, to prevent each other crowded against each other, fighting or fierce running and jumping.

3. Reasonable use of pregnant cattle. After 6 months of pregnancy, the cow can only do light work, do not push and grind, do not turn sharply, do not play the cold whip. Forced labor should be stopped 30 days before delivery. After the pregnant cow stops the forced labor, exercise 2Mel for 3 hours a day, which can avoid dystocia.

4. If pregnant cattle are found to be sick, they should ask a veterinarian for treatment as soon as possible.
