Ginkgo biloba is also called Gongsun tree, which means that ginkgo biloba can not blossom and bear fruit until it is a grandfather when you are a teenager, which shows the long flowering and fruiting cycle of ginkgo biloba. Due to the high edible and medicinal value of ginkgo biloba, many people now begin to plant ginkgo biloba. Although the flowering and fruiting cycle of the improved ginkgo biloba is not as long as before, it is not short. So how to promote early flowering and early fruit of ginkgo biloba has become a top priority for growers. Today, the editor introduces several ways to promote early flowering and early fruit of ginkgo biloba.

Ginkgo biloba

First, pull branches. Starting from the young ginkgo biloba, the ginkgo trees with small branch angles are opened by drawing branches to ease the growth of ginkgo trees and branches and promote flower formation. In early May, a convenient bag containing soil was tied to the tip of the upright branch, and the weight of the bag was determined according to the branch growth and branch pulling requirements. The more upright the branch, the thicker the branch and the heavier the opening angle, the heavier the bag. Generally, the main branch is stretched into an angle of 45 mi 50 degrees, and the lateral branch is stretched into an angle of 55-60 degrees. The non-backbone branch is flattened.

Second, cut. Cut cross with a knife above or below the short branches of ginkgo biloba, reaching to the xylem, so that the short branches can accumulate a large amount of nutrients and accelerate the formation of flowers. The upper part of the short branch should be cut in winter to prevent the upward transport of lower nutrients so that nutrients accumulate in the short branch; in summer, the lower part of the short branch is scratched to prevent the downward transport of upper nutrients, so that nutrients accumulate in the short branch and promote the formation of flower buds.

Third, ginkgo ring peeling and ring-shaped upside-down skin. Using the publication blade to peel off a circle of cortex on the smooth base of the main branch or side branch of Ginkgo biloba, the nutrients produced by the upper branches and leaves of the ring peeling mouth accumulate in the short branch, which can quickly form flower buds. The key to this technology: first, it should be girdled before flower bud differentiation, that is, girdling should be carried out from late May to the first and middle of June every year; second, the girdling width should be more than 1.5 cm, even if the thick branch girdling width should be more than 1.5 cm; third, the cutting depth should reach the xylem of ginkgo biloba, but the xylem can not be damaged; fourth, the ring peeling mouth should be smooth, clean, flat and straight, avoid pollution. The ring peeling mouth is tightly wrapped with plastic film to prevent disease and insect infection so as to promote the rapid healing of the ring peeling mouth. Girdling in the first year will be effective in the following year. It must be noted that if the ring peeling operation is not strict, the ring peeling branches of ginkgo biloba will die. Therefore, the first adopter can reverse the upper and lower end of the stripped cortex and then stick it on it, which is called ring peeling and upside down. The essentials of this operation and the results obtained are the same as those of the ring stripping method.

Fourth, ring cutting. Cut the trunk or the base of the main and lateral branches of Ginkgo biloba as deep as xylem with a sharp blade, which can be cut 4 times in a row. The distance between the circle and the circle is 0.5 cm. The disadvantage of ring cutting is that it needs to be carried out year after year (the position needs to be changed for ring cutting in the second year) until the effect is stable.

The treatment of controlling growth and promoting flowers of Ginkgo biloba must be carried out after 4 years of planting of grafted seedlings or 3 years after grafting of seedlings, the long branches of ginkgo biloba plants are stout and can form short branches, and the first annual growth of the main branch can be extended to more than 50 cm.
