How to prevent and reduce frostbite of tilapia during overwintering
tilapia
In order to prevent and reduce the occurrence of tilapia frostbite during winter, we have given guidance to some farmers in Jinping Town and asked them to do the following work:
1. Windbreak: For small tilapia seed ponds, shelters can be erected to block wind.
2. Deepen the water level: maintain 2-2.5m water depth, slow down the impact of freezing on water temperature.
3. Nutrition and health care: the quality of feed before winter is good, energy is not too high, do not feed too much, so as not to cause visceral diseases (such as enteritis, hepatobiliary syndrome and visceral fat content is too high), protect the liver and gallbladder to enhance fish body resistance.
4. Insect control: pay attention to parasites. Bacterial diseases may not be found easily due to low water temperature during wintering. However, secondary bacterial infection caused by parasites will lead to large areas of dead fish after wintering, so routine disinfection is required during wintering.
5. Reduce stocking density: Reasonable density can avoid frostbite caused by fish hypoxia.
6. Aerated warming: open the aerator at noon on sunny days with high temperature, mix the surface oxygen-rich water and high temperature water with the bottom water, increase the oxygen content of the bottom water and increase the bottom water temperature. Do not open the aerator when the surface water temperature is lower than the bottom water temperature.
7. Reduce net pulling: to avoid mechanical damage to tilapia fish after net pulling, except for fish from dry pond.
