Conservation of piglets

Nowadays, with the improvement of the social level, people's demand for the quality of life is getting higher and higher, especially the demand for meat, in which pork plays an important role, so raising pigs is of great value to the society. in the process of raising pigs, the conservation stage is the most important and relatively difficult. Next we will discuss the conservation of piglets.

I. physiological characteristics of conserving piglets

The main results are as follows: 1. Poor cold resistance. Once nursing piglets leave the warm delivery room and the arms of sows, they must have an adaptation process, especially sensitive to temperature. If they live in an environment below 18 ℃ for a long time, it will not only affect their growth and development, but also induce a variety of diseases.

2. Rapid growth and development. During this period, piglets have a particularly strong appetite, often showing the phenomenon of rush to eat and gluttony, which is called the prosperous eating period of piglets. If the conservation and feeding management is proper, the piglets will grow rapidly and their body weight can be doubled between 40 and 60 days old.

3. High susceptibility to disease. Due to the loss of maternal antibody protection due to weaning, and their own active immune capacity is not established or not strong, it is very susceptible to Haemophilus parasuis, Streptococcus suis, Pasteurella multocida and so on. Some vertical infectious diseases such as classical swine fever and swine pseudorabies may also break out during this period.

2. Key points of management for conservation of piglets

The main contents are as follows: 1. Carry out high hemp online breeding. This is composed of steel or plastic woven leaky floor mesh, fence, automatic drinking fountain, food trough and incubator, generally square, each column holds 10 to 20 piglets. A heating cubicle is set up on one side of the net bed, which can improve the labor production efficiency and reduce the incidence of piglets.

2. Pay attention to ventilation and keep warm. The room temperature of the nursery should not be lower than 24 ℃, and the temperature of the heating cubicle should be above 28 ℃. Because there are many pigs in the nursery and the density is high, a large number of harmful gases (ammonia and carbon dioxide) can be produced in the cold season, so it is necessary to do a good job in ventilation and eliminate harmful gases while keeping warm.

3. In the first week of entering the nursery, piglets should be fed only 70% to 80% full, which can not only enhance digestive ability, but also maintain exuberant appetite, and effectively prevent the occurrence of edema and diarrhoeal diseases. High quality formula feed is required for the conservation of piglets.

4. Piglets during this period are the key period of epidemic prevention and health care, such as classical swine fever vaccine, porcine blue ear disease vaccine and so on. At the same time, according to the actual situation of pigs, growth promoters, antibiotics and insect repellents should be added to the feed as appropriate.
