Summer cabbage is planted in off-season and listed between summer and autumn, which is in the off-season of vegetables and has good economic benefits. However, the germination stage and seedling stage of summer cabbage are hot and rainy, and the sun is long in summer, which is prone to diseases and insect pests, and it is difficult to cultivate. Chinese cabbage is often unfruitful or non-heading, which seriously affects the yield and quality of summer cabbage. In this paper, the key techniques for high yield cultivation of summer cabbage were summarized.

Summer cabbage

First, select excellent varieties of summer cabbage. Varieties such as Kangre 45, Xiayang 50 and Zaoxinbai have short growth period, compact heading, good quality, resistance to virus disease, soft rot and resistance to downy mildew, and can still bear balls normally under about 35 conditions, which is suitable for cultivation in summer.

Second, soil preparation and fertilization. The growth of summer cabbage is exuberant, the demand for fertilizer and water is large, but it is not resistant to waterlogging, the cultivation methods are heavy application of base fertilizer and high ridge planting. 3000-5000 kg of mature organic fertilizer, 75 kg of ternary compound fertilizer, 4-5 kg of methyl isophosphate, 20 kg of superphosphate and 10 kg of zinc sulfate were applied per mu. After fertilization, the soil was prepared to form a high ridge with a width of 80cm and a height of 15-20cm, and a ditch width of 50cm. In order to control diseases and insect pests, 10 kg fine soil plus 0.75 kg methyl topiramate per mu was applied under the ridge.

Third, sowing methods. It can be broadcast directly after Children's Day. Before that, the seedlings can be raised in a nutrition bowl and the seedlings can be transplanted. Hole sowing can save seeds during direct seeding, using 50 to 100 grams of Chinese cabbage seeds per mu. Sowing density requires row spacing of 40 cm, plant spacing of 33-37 cm, and planting 4500-5000 plants per mu. When sowing, plots with poor soil moisture must be irrigated with enough moisture before sowing.

Fourth, field management. The growth period of summer cabbage is short, so it is appropriate to adopt the management of promoting to the end. Seedlings should be fixed and replenished in time during the seedling period, with 3-4 leaves for the first time and 5-6 leaves for the first time. Prevent root damage when seedlings are fixed or fixed. Due to the high temperature and fast evaporation of soil moisture in summer, the soil should be watered and loosened in time, and small water should be irrigated every 2-3 days under dry weather and no rain. In case of rain, stagnant water should be discharged from the field in time to prevent seedlings from causing rotten roots. Water the summer cabbage 10-15 days before Baoxin, and cultivate the squatting seedlings. After watering the squatting seedlings, chase the heart fat again. During the heading period of Chinese cabbage, attention should be paid to maintaining soil moisture, mainly topdressing, combined with watering, topdressing 10 kg urea or 15 kg ammonium phosphate by hole application or furrow application, and the fertilization point should be far away from the cabbage plant so as not to burn the root system. Stop watering 5-7 days before harvest.

Fifth, pest prevention and control. Summer cabbage is prone to diseases and insect pests, early detection and early control. Downy mildew and soft rot are the main diseases of summer cabbage. 150 to 200 times 40% ethyl phosphate aluminum wettable powder or 500 times 75% chlorothalonil wettable powder are available for downy mildew control; 100 to 150 mg / L agricultural streptomycin is used for soft rot control. Spray once at intervals of about 7 days, 2 to 3 times in a row. Insect pests include aphids, cabbage insects, etc., which can be controlled by 4.5% cypermethrin 1000 to 1500 times.
