May and June is the peak season for pomegranate flowers in full bloom. Most pomegranate flowers are degenerated flowers, and the complete flowers that can bear fruit generally account for only about 10% of the total pomegranate flowers. In order to promote fruit setting, increase yield and improve quality, the following measures can be taken to protect flowers and fruits in May and June:

Pomegranate florescence

1. Foliar spraying fertilizer. In the early flowering stage of pomegranate, spraying 0.5% urea solution, 1% superphosphate leaching solution, 0.3% potassium dihydrogen phosphate solution or 0.3% borax solution can increase the fruit setting rate of pomegranate by 7% and 10%.

two。 Thinning flowers and fruits. The degenerated flowers that can not bear normal fruit will consume a lot of nutrients, so after the pomegranate bud can distinguish between tube-shaped flowers and bell-shaped flowers, most of the nutrient-consuming bell-shaped flowers should be removed. After setting fruit, remove the small fruits in disease, insect, deformed fruit, late flowering fruit and tufted fruit in time. The amount of fruit thinning is determined according to the tree potential, the fruit is more sparse when the fruit is more, and less when the fruit is less; the old weak tree is more sparse, and the strong tree is less sparse. The practice shows that the earlier and more thoroughly the flower buds are removed, the more obvious the yield increase effect is, and the fruit thinning can also make the pomegranate mature period consistent, large and of good quality.

3. Artificial pollination. Pomegranate self-flowering fruit rate is low, flowering low temperature, overcast and rainy, few pollinating insects, artificial pollination can increase the pomegranate fruit setting rate by 9.6%. The method is as follows: few trees and small amount of pollination, directly pollinate the tubular flowers with the newly opened bell flowers, or collect pollen from the normal flowers of the pollinated trees with a brush, and then pollinate the normal style heads of the main pomegranate trees. The pollinated flowers lose their petals as a mark. When the amount of pollination is large, it is necessary to collect a large number of excess buds and flowers from the pollination tree, remove the petals, take out the anther, dry it in the shade, and make the anther crack, and then put the shell in the dryer and stored in the refrigerator. When pollinating, use a brush to dip in the flowers. To determine the amount of pollination according to the tree, large crown, strong tree potential and young and prosperous trees should pollinate more to promote more fruit; pomegranate trees with small crown, weak tree strength and old age can pollinate less, so as to rejuvenate the tree and improve the quality of pomegranate.

4. Timely prevention and control of diseases and insect pests. The pomegranate's main disease and insect pest is dry rot, and the incidence is at its peak in July. The prevention and control can be controlled by spraying with Bordeaux solution of 1pura 1purl 160 or 800 times 40% carbendazim gel suspension. The main pests are peach borer and peach heart borer, which affect the yield and quality of pomegranate by feeding larvae in pomegranate. During the peak period of adult occurrence and spawning of peach borer, the peach borer can be sprayed with 1000 times of 50% fenitrothion or 50% phoxim EC, or 1 part of 50% phoxim EC or 90% crystal trichlorfon. To control peach heart borer, the ground under the crown of pomegranate can be sprayed with 3000 times of phoxim EC during the unearthed period of the larvae (June to July), and then shallow hoe after spraying, or 2.5% insecticidal or 20% pyrethrin 3000 times solution can be sprayed during the peak period of adults.
