Egg duck rearing

In order to improve the laying rate and the commodity rate of egg products of captive laying ducks, we should not only meet their needs for protein and energy nutrition, but also supplement calcium scientifically. This includes the following aspects:

1. Choose a good calcium source. Generally, limestone and shell are the main sources of calcium, but the proportion should be appropriate, and the ratio of stone powder to shell powder should be 2 ∶ 3. When 1% bone meal is added, the strength and smoothness of the eggshell are the best.

two。 The time of calcium supplement is suitable. Captive laying ducks begin to lay eggs at about 100 days of age, and 15 weeks of age is the best time to start calcium supplement. Calcium supplement should be between young ducks and laying ducks, 2.5% is appropriate, and then gradually increase.

3. The best amount of calcium supplement in each stage of egg production. The utilization rate of calcium in laying ducks is about 65%, and it takes 4.8 to 5.12 grams of calcium to lay an egg. Practice has proved that when the laying rate is less than 65%, the calcium is 2.5%; when the laying rate is 65% and 80%, the calcium is 3%; when the laying rate is more than 80%, the calcium is 3.2% 3.5%.

4. Calcium granule is the best. Granular calcium stays in the digestive tract for a long time and can evenly supply calcium in the stage of eggshell formation. at the same time, granular calcium has a grinding effect similar to sand in the stomach, which can promote the digestion and utilization of feed. Practice has proved that 50% granular shells combined with 50% limestone can make laying ducks absorb calcium well.

5. The supply of vitamin D in the diet should be guaranteed. Controlling the ratio of calcium to phosphorus is 5 ∶ 1 to 6.5 ∶ 1, which is beneficial to the absorption and utilization of calcium.

6. According to the laying rate, the light should be kept for 14 ~ 17 hours. Because sunlight can convert ergosterol in feather, skin and blood into vitamin D, which is conducive to the absorption and utilization of calcium.
