The plan of the year lies in spring, and the spring of pig farming is also very important. In spring, pig farms should not only make a good plan for a year's production tasks, but also make a good start for a year's pig management, specifically to cover, clear, replenish, prevent and plant five things.

Raising pigs

First thing: cover

As the saying goes, "cover in spring and freeze in autumn", which applies not only to people, but also to the pig industry. After "the Beginning of Spring", although the temperature will rise, sometimes there will be a phenomenon of "cold in late spring". A little carelessness will lead to great losses. therefore, after the Beginning of Spring, professional pig farmers must not open their pig houses, but should continue to "cover" for a period of time. Some heating equipment will be retained at least until the average temperature is above 10 ℃. At ordinary times, we should also pay close attention to the weather changes and do a good job of cold prevention in time.

The second thing: Qing

When spring comes and the temperature picks up, too much toxic gases such as methane, ammonia and hydrogen sulfide are often gathered in the pigsty. If not discharged and cleaned, it may stimulate the respiratory mucosa and conjunctiva of pigs, resulting in a decline in immunity of pigs.

Therefore, professional pig farmers should appropriately extend the time of opening and opening windows in order to discharge toxic gases. After the weather gets warmer, pig farmers should clean up the pig house thoroughly. At the same time, strong iodine, chlorothalonil, strong disinfectant, chlorine dioxide and other drugs can be selected to disinfect pigs during the period of relatively high temperature around noon.

The third thing: make up

The lack of green feed in spring, but the metabolism of pigs is increasingly exuberant, there is an urgent need to supplement amino acids, minerals and vitamins. Therefore, pig farmers can add an appropriate amount of high-quality silage, germinated feed, carrots, green radishes, Chinese cabbage, pumpkins and so on in addition to pig diets to supplement nutrition, regulate gastrointestinal function and increase appetite. After the beginning of spring, when mating enters the peak season, it is necessary to replenish the breeding boar in time, usually 1 to 2 eggs a day. In addition, spring is a critical period for raising piglets, but at this time the climate is changeable, raising and management must be more careful, especially to let piglets pass the feeding level.

The fourth thing: prevention

The temperature rises and falls in spring, which is prone to influenza and some infectious diseases. Therefore, disease prevention in spring is a key link that professional pig farmers must pay great attention to. Spring pig disease focuses on prevention, the first method is to carry out air disinfection, which can be sprayed with peracetic acid or fumigated vinegar; the second is vaccine injection, which should focus on the immunity of key diseases according to the characteristics of the local epidemic situation in the past; thirdly, do a good job in inspection, find signs of disease, and quickly isolate and treat them.

The fifth thing: plant

Raising pigs with high quality forage grass can not only reduce the feed cost, but also increase the lean meat rate. Pigs have mixed feeding habits and can feed on a variety of fresh, juicy forages, especially high-quality grasses with low crude cellulose content and high carbohydrate and protein content, such as grain amaranth, Ixeris frutescens, chicory and so on. Spring is a good time to plant forage grass. Professional pig farmers should seize the opportunity to plant forage grass in time. The first step in planting forage grass is the feed base, but at the same time, don't forget the scattered land in the pig farm. Planting forage in these places can not only ensure the supply of green feed, but also adjust the small environment of the pig farm. The planting time of these grasses usually begins in late March.

In addition, it is necessary to plant bergamot, pumpkin, towel gourd, lentils and other seedling vines in front of the pigsty in order to provide shade for the pigsty in summer.
