Spring is an important season for cows to produce milk. In order to promote dairy cows to produce more milk in spring, dairy farmers should pay attention to the following six points in cow feeding and management:

Cow

1. Keep the appropriate temperature

About 20 ℃ is the critical temperature for dairy cows to produce milk, but it is difficult to reach this temperature in early spring. In addition to raising cattle in a greenhouse, at least the temperature in the barn should be kept at about 10 ℃.

2. Provide adequate dietary nutrition

On the basis of feeding enough hay or silage to dairy cows, the nutritional composition of the diet should be increased appropriately. When there is no green fodder, prepare three or five kilograms of carrots, fresh cabbage leaves or potatoes every day, cut them up and feed them. On the basis of the normal milk production of dairy cows, for every 3 kg more milk, 1 kg to 1.5 kg of mixed concentrate should be fed accordingly to ensure the nutrition of milk production.

3. Supply enough warm water

If cows are given cold water in early spring, a large amount of body heat will be consumed and milk production will be reduced. If cows do not drink enough water, some diseases will follow. Therefore, dairy farmers should pay attention to providing cows with an adequate amount of warm water of about 16 ℃ every day, which is usually boiled water from each bucket of half-hot water bottle that has just been pumped out of the well for cows to drink.

4. Keep the enclosure hygienic

In order to keep the dairy barn dry, it is necessary to cover the grass frequently and often because it is good for heat preservation. It is necessary to remove feces in time, and often sprinkle some plant ash or lime powder in the barn, which can not only reduce the humidity in the barn, but also disinfect and prevent disease, but also help to increase the milk yield of dairy cows.

5. Stick to the sun and exercise

In sunny and warm weather, let the cow exercise for at least two hours a day, and then take the cow to the leeward and sunny place to bask in the sun to strengthen blood circulation, help digestion and increase milk production.

6. Brush the cow body carefully

Because brushing the cow's body can increase milk production, it is necessary to carefully brush the cow's whole body fur once or twice a day.
