In the breeding process of meat donkeys, fattening is very difficult, because meat donkeys are herbivores. In fact, meat donkey fattening is the scientific application of feed and management technology to obtain the output of high quality meat donkey in a short time with lower breeding cost, so that the price of meat donkey can be increased and breeding income can be increased. Then this article gives farmers a detailed introduction to the four problems that should be paid attention to in fattening meat donkeys.

Donkey

First, the selection of excellent varieties. In order to improve the economic benefit of breeding meat donkey, we must first select the offspring of crossing between excellent breeds and local breeds. Secondly, do a good job of raising meat donkeys scientifically. The improved breeds of donkeys in China are mainly used for both meat and meat, of which they are large and suitable for pure breeding of Guanzhong donkey and Dezhou donkey as meat donkeys, which can be hybridized with various local varieties of donkeys; medium-sized donkeys such as Biyang donkey and Jiami donkey, these two kinds of donkeys can not only bear all kinds of labor, but also can be used as excellent breeds for hybrid improvement of local varieties of donkeys; dwarf local improved varieties such as Hexi donkey.

Second, the principle of feeding. According to the male and female, age, strength and physical condition of the donkey, the donkeys are raised in grooves, tied short reins, fixed grooves and fed 4 times a day in the morning, middle, evening and night (for meat service). You can feed one more time in summer and one less time in winter. The coarse material should be cut short and cut fine, so as to achieve "three knives per inch of grass". Concentrate should be ground, or soaked, fermented, roasted and other forms of price, in order to improve the palatability and digestibility of concentrate. As the donkey's stomach is small, it should be fed less frequently and replenished at night. At the same time, ensure that donkeys are provided with adequate drinking water and an appropriate amount of salt. Feed regularly every day, rest and exercise regularly, and brush the skin on time.

Third, the raising of foals. In addition to normal management, newborn donkeys usually begin to train them to eat concentrate when they are 15 days old. They can grind corn, barley, millet and oats into noodles, boil them into gruel and add a little sugar to tempt them to eat. Start with 10-20g a day, 80100g after a few days, 100200g after 1 month, 500g and 1000 g after 2 months, and then increase gradually. after 9 months, the daily concentrate should reach 3.5kg, and the meat donkey needs to use 500kg concentrate in the whole fattening period.

Fourth, the method of fattening adult donkeys. Donkeys who are ready to fattening can first be fed some digestible feed such as grass and wheat bran, and should be fed less frequently, only to 70% or 80% full at a time. After a few days of observation, the donkey can enter the positive feeding period normally. At this time, the mixed concentrate fed to the donkey is mainly cottonseed husk (cotton producing area). The mixed concentrate includes 30% corn flour, 50% cottonseed cake and 20% bran twice a day, and can be sold for 2 months (for coarse feed at night).
