In order to maintain its own life and adjust the temperature and humidity of the hive, a normal colony needs to collect 200 grams of water every day. When the area of the nest and spleen is large and the hot season, the water demand of the colony also increases. Artificial water feeding to bees can reduce the physical loss of bees collecting water remotely, especially to solve the problem of water collection by bees in those water-deficient beehives. There are ways to artificially feed water to bees in a colony:

Bees

1. Feed water in the box. In spring, the area of the nest and spleen is large, and the colony needs more water. At this time, feeding water to bees should be combined with reward feeding. Bees can put sugar in the feeder at night and water during the day. Wet towels can be covered on the yarn cover during the hot and dry season, and water is often sprinkled on the wet towels. During the transfer of the colony, appropriate water can be added to the spleen in the hive, or a feeder equipped with absorbent cotton or sponge can be placed outside the hive.

2. The nest door is fed with water. That is, place a bottle or plastic bag full of water on the pedal of the hive door in front of the beehive, then take a piece of gauze and soak one end of the gauze in the water of the bottle or plastic bag, so that the bees can absorb water from the wet gauze.

3. Open-air water feeding in the beehive. Put a large basin covered with plastic sheeting or dig a pit covered with plastic sheeting in the bee storage site, put the slag or wood into the pit or basin, and then pour in clean water for the bees to use. You can also make an automatic drinking fountain, that is, many small grooves are engraved on a piece of wood, and a small water bottle is inverted at the end of the board, and the water slowly flows out and fills the grooves for bees to use.
