Root burning of pepper mainly occurs in seedling stage and adult stage of pepper. When root burning occurs, the root tip turns yellow, no new roots are sent, and the roots are generally not rotten in the early stage, but the pepper grows slowly, the plant is short, brittle and hard, forming small and old seedlings. Some chili peppers begin to burn roots at the seedling stage and do not appear until the high temperature season from July to August. The pepper plants with light roots wilted at noon and could recover sooner or later, but in the later stage, due to high temperature and insufficient water supply, the plants dried up, like bacterial wilt or wilt, but there was no abnormality in the longitudinal section of pepper stems, which was different from the above two diseases.

Etiology: mainly due to the application of excessive undermature organic fertilizer, especially undermature chicken manure or under the condition of insufficient soil water supply, pepper is more likely to burn roots.

Prevention and control measures:

1, formula fertilization, the application of enzyme bacteria retting compost or bio-organic compound fertilizer, can be prepared with human manure, it is best not to use chicken manure, must be fully mature when used. The proportion of the formula is that for every 1000 kg of pepper fruit, 4.5kg of nitrogen, 1.04kg of phosphorus and 5.5kg of potassium are required.

2. It is recommended to apply Huimanfeng multi-element compound organic active liquid fertilizer with 450ml per mu, diluted 400x or Yunda-120plant growth regulator 3000 times, spraying leaves for 3 times.

3. When root burning has occurred, the amount of irrigation should be increased and the concentration of soil solution should be reduced.

4. The pepper field covered with plastic film should break the film gradually after entering the high temperature season to prevent the ground temperature from being too high, and increase the amount of air release or watering to cool down if necessary.
