After entering July, the midsummer season comes, the daytime temperature is often as high as 30 ℃, and the suitable temperature for ginger growth is about 25 ℃. Too high temperature and light intensity cause physiological disorders of ginger. Moreover, after July, the northern region enters the flood season, and the overcast and rainy weather increases, which is easy to induce the epidemic of various diseases. The following is to introduce the key points of ginger management in the middle of summer.

Summer management of ginger

First, uncover the plastic film in time. The main role of plastic film mulching is to increase temperature and preserve soil moisture in the early stage. after ginger enters the "three forks" period, the main management measures are cooling and watering and fertilization. at this time, plastic film not only does not play a role, but also brings great disadvantages. Too high ground temperature will affect the expansion of ginger and the root system. Plastic film reflects sunlight, which will heat and bake the leaves and affect the normal growth of the plant. Plastic film mulching affects watering, fertilization and spraying, which brings great inconvenience to field management.

Second, adequate supply of fat and water. After the "three-strand fork" period of ginger, ginger lumps enter a period of rapid expansion, which is also a period in which ginger needs a lot of water and fertilizer. Potassium sulfate compound fertilizer should be applied once with water every 15 days, a total of three times, each time 30 kg per mu. It is better to use high potassium compound fertilizer.

Third, timely prevention and control of diseases. The main diseases are anthracnose, leaf spot, leaf blight and bacterial diseases. Root diseases include stem rot, root rot, ginger blast and so on. To control leaf diseases, we can choose Amido 10 ml + copper noble 35 ml mixed with water 15 kg, spray control, spray again after 15 days. Root irrigation with this method can control root diseases such as ginger stem base rot, ginger blast and root rot.

Fourth, timely control of insect pests. The older the pest is, the stronger the drug resistance is, and the more difficult it is to control. Therefore, we must adhere to the principle of "early control, egg control and insect control". The more harmful pests on ginger are ginger borer, beet armyworm, Spodoptera litura, thrips, Bemisia Tabaci and so on. 20% Kangkuan can be selected, 10 ml Kangkuan mixed with 15 kg water and evenly sprayed every 15 days.
