Goose is a herbivorous animal, feeding is generally based on green feed, supplemented by concentrate feed. It is spring now, and there is a wide range of green feed options for geese. However, it should be noted that the following six points should be paid attention to when feeding green feed to geese:

goose

1, green feed is collected and fed, can not be stacked for a long time, to prevent green feed accumulation for too long to produce nitrite, nitrite poisoning occurs after eating geese.

2. After green feed is collected, wash the sediment with clean water and cut it short for feeding. If long-term consumption of silt-containing green feed, can cause gastroenteritis of geese.

3. Vegetables or pastures that have just been sprayed with pesticides should not be eaten to prevent pesticide poisoning. Generally, vegetables or pastures sprayed with pesticides can be collected after 15 days.

4. Do not feed geese with vegetables containing more oxalic acid. Such as spinach, beet, etc. Because oxalic acid will combine with calcium added in the diet to form insoluble calcium oxalate, geese cannot digest and absorb calcium oxalate, and long-term feeding of this green feed will lead to an increase in calcium oxalate content in geese, causing rickets or paralysis in geese, and thin shell eggs or soft eggs in female geese.

5. The feeding amount of some legume forages containing more saponin should not be too much, because too much saponin accumulated in geese will inhibit the growth of gosling. Some varieties of alfalfa contain as much as 2% saponin, so alfalfa cannot be used as the only green feed for geese.

6. Feeding diversified green feed can not only increase the palatability of geese, improve the feed intake of geese, but also provide rich and comprehensive plant protein and vitamins.
