If you want to get good benefits from goats, the four key points of daily management can not be ignored.

Goat

First, scratching and shearing. Meat and cashmere dual-purpose goats are scratched and sheared every spring. The sign of being able to grab cashmere is that the fluff around the head, ear root and eye rims of the goat begins to fall off. After catching the cashmere, the goat is sheared for about a week. When grabbing cashmere, lay the goat down, tie the two front legs and one hind leg together with a rope, and then use a comb to gently comb off the broken grass and dung from the top to the bottom of the goat from neck, shoulder, chest, back, waist and strands. Then use a tight comb to comb against the hair in the order of strands, waist, back, chest and shoulders. Grab velvet should be close to the skin, force should be uniform, to prevent scratching the skin.

Second, go to the corner. Lie down on the side of the lamb 5 or 7 days after birth, gently touch the horn base with your fingers, then cut off the hair from the hard and protruding place and coat it with Vaseline. Take a caustic potassium (sodium) stick, wrap it in paper at one end, rub repeatedly at the protruding part of the goat horn after dipping the other end with water, until it bleeds slightly. After friction, sprinkle a layer of hemostatic and anti-inflammatory powder, separate the lamb from the ewe and put it in a small column to prevent the female goat from getting medicine on the breast and damaging the breast.

Third, trim the hoof. It usually takes place after the rain. While trimming the hoof, sit the goat on the ground, and the man stands behind the goat, so that the goat half lies between the man's legs, and the goat's hind legs are raised so that the goat cannot get up. Start trimming the hooves from the forelegs, first cut off the overgrown horns with fruit trees, and then trim the edges of the hooves with a knife to be as flat as the soles, until the reddish blood vessels on the soles are visible. If excessive pruning of sheep's hoof causes bleeding, it can be coated with iodine to reduce inflammation. If the bleeding does not stop, put the goat's hooves on the reddish iron and burn them quickly. After plastic surgery, the foot of the sheep's hoof should be flat and the front end is square and round.

Fourth, brush. Dairy goats should be brushed every day. When brushing the goat, it is best to wipe the goat from top to bottom and brush the goat body with a hard straw brush from front to back. If the goats are contaminated with dung, they can be washed with clean water or gently combed with an iron brush.
