Breeding techniques of meat donkeys with small food intake, rapid reproduction and high efficiency
Meat donkey is a herbivore with a wide range of forage sources, strong stress resistance, fast reproduction, small food intake, easy to breed and good market prospects. Today, the editor will introduce to you the breeding techniques of meat donkeys.
Meat donkey
First, feeding: donkeys are herbivores. The best forage grass is dry, hard and crisp crop straw such as corn, millet, bean vine and so on. Semi-dry and constantly folded forage grass is most likely to cause "knot" disease in meat donkeys, so avoid feeding. Use a straw cutter to cut the forage into short segments 3-4 cm long, supplemented by fried cottonseed, corn, peas and other concentrates or wheat bran. They were fed once in the morning, in the middle and once in the evening, mainly in the evening. When adding grass-like straw to make the donkey late and full each time, feed it with high-protein forage such as alfalfa and bean vines to induce its appetite. When the meat donkey stops eating, feed the grass (that is, the grass left at the bottom of the trough with whole feed such as peas, corn, fried cottonseed or wheat bran and a small amount of water) to induce the meat donkey to reach maximum food intake.
Second, captive breeding: intensive meat donkeys are fattened, and it is better to raise donkeys in stables. Generally speaking, the stables of meat donkeys can keep out the rain and the wind. There is a trough in the enclosure, which reserves enough food space of 60-80cm for each donkey. Between adult donkeys, strong fences are set up according to the distance of eating position to prevent each other from harassing each other (fences in male-female mixed stables are more important).
Third, reproduction: meat donkey breeds with large body, rough feeding resistance, strong disease resistance, good adaptability, good reproductive performance and high feed reward should be selected. At present, mating and breeding of the same kind is the main way of reproduction of meat donkeys, and it can also be crossed with horses. Intensive breeding meat donkey can use artificial insemination to collect the clear liquid of improved breed, breed in large quantities and popularize the improved breed of meat donkey.
Fourth, disease prevention: meat donkeys are more resistant to rough feeding and disease resistance than horses and cattle. However, meat donkeys can also get sick and are prone to infectious anemia, gangrene and tetanus, especially intensive meat donkeys, we should pay more attention to breeding environmental hygiene to prevent the occurrence of epidemic diseases. In order to raise donkeys well, we should pay attention to the following points:
① when donkeys leave the stables, donkeys should be allowed to drink enough clean water to prevent them from drinking contaminated or dirty water.
② does a good job in the hygiene of the feed house. Do not leave overnight feces in the stables. Clean and disinfect the trough and water tank regularly. The stables of meat donkeys should be built far away from the village to avoid being infected by the epidemic.
When the ③ donkey enters and leaves the ring, let the donkey roll happily on the ground and brush it head by head. This is conducive to cleaning the skin, but also can promote blood circulation, improve physical health.
④ often observes. Once it is found that the donkey is not feeling well, or there is a diet performance, timely treatment, do not delay the opportunity.
⑤ male and female meat donkey mixed stable, should pay attention to sexual harassment. Sexual harassment can not only cause miscarriage of female donkeys, but also cause tetanus due to mutual bite and collision, so the stronger the food fence, the better.
