When the temperature is high in summer, pregnant sows lose their appetite, reduce feed intake, increase body temperature and increase the number of breathing, which leads to malnutrition, reduced milk yield and even stillbirth. Therefore, it is very important to do well the feeding and management of summer pregnant sows.

Sow

1. Prevent the temperature from getting too high. The pigsty of pregnant sows that need to spend the summer should be equipped with shade, ventilation and other equipment to prevent heatstroke and other heat stress diseases. Cold water can be sprayed into the pigsty on a hot day, but not directly on the sow. When the temperature is above 30 ℃, measures such as installing air conditioners and electric fans can be taken to cool down quickly so as to prevent stillbirth.

2. Prevent mechanical abortion. Pay attention to the feeding density of pregnant sows. For example, in a pigsty of 7 square meters, a maximum of 4 sows are raised in the first trimester and no more than 2 in the second trimester, and it is best to raise them separately in separate columns, which can avoid bullying, uneven food intake, resulting in irregular fetal growth, and can also avoid high temperature irritability leading to sows biting and colliding with each other, leading to stillbirth or miscarriage. If there is grass nearby, the sow is often driven out for activities to enhance the health of the sow and shorten the litter time when giving birth.

3. Prevent the spread of diseases. Summer pregnant sows are prone to scabies and lice, pay special attention to pig auricles, if there is timely prevention and cure, completely eradicated. Sows in late pregnancy should reduce the amount of feed 3 days before delivery, and postpartum sows should be fed some porridge with thin wheat bran. Before transferring the delivery room, the whole body of the sow was washed and sterilized with 2% potassium permanganate solution and dried. At the same time, the delivery room should also be cleaned and disinfected.

4. Prevent mosquito and fly bites. Sows are attacked by mosquitoes, flies and poisonous insects, which not only affect rest, but also adversely affect fetal growth, but also spread diseases. Therefore, early summer pregnant sows in the pigsty should be set up as soon as possible to prevent mosquitoes. During the mosquito peak, sows were fed with vitamin B1 30-40 mg every 3 days. Can also smash tomato leaves and peppermint leaves to extract juice, daub on sows, mosquito repellent effect is better.

5. Prevent environmental pollution. Timely removal of feces, can be used to kill or sodium hypochlorite and other disinfection drugs regularly disinfection, sow disinfection can not use quicklime or fire alkali belt. Feed wet mixture, avoid leftovers as far as possible, and remove leftovers in time to avoid fermentation mildew. Wash the trough and dry it every day.
