Crucian carp meat is tender and delicious, rich in amino acids, which is not only a delicacy, but also a medicinal food, which has a good effect on the treatment of edema, deficiency of spleen and stomach, postpartum body deficiency and lactation. Crucian carp has strong adaptability, miscellaneous food habits, few diseases and good culture characteristics. The practice shows that mastering the following techniques in the process of culture is helpful to the high yield and high benefit of crucian carp.

Crucian carp

I. Pond conditions

Crucian carp are fond of clustering, diving into the mud and jumping against the current to escape. The main pond for raising crucian carp is generally about 2 mu, with a maximum of no more than 4 mu. The bottom of the pond should be hard, the thickness of silt is allowed to be within 10cm, and the silt must be cleared beyond 10cm to facilitate the fishing of crucian carp; the ridge of the pond is solid and does not leak, and a firm and reliable fish fence is installed at the inlet and outlet and is higher than the highest water level 50cm of the pond.

II. Variety selection

At present, the crucian carp on sale in the market are mixed. The practice shows that the growth rate of allogenic silver crucian carp and high-backed allogenic silver crucian carp is 2 times and 3 times faster than that of common crucian carp, respectively. Allogenic silver crucian carp is similar to high-backed allogenic silver crucian carp. The difference between allogenic silver crucian carp and common crucian carp lies in that the lateral linear scales of allogenic silver crucian carp are 32 pieces, and that of common crucian carp are 28 color 29. The number of lateral linear scales of allogenic silver crucian carp is the same as that of high-back crucian carp, but the head of high-backed crucian carp is short, the back is high, the body is thick, and the abdomen is round.

3. Stocking density

The quantity of crucian carp is more than 2000 per mu, although the yield is high, but the commercial crucian carp is small, the sales price is low, and the benefit is not ideal; the stocking quantity is less than 1000 per mu, although the commercial crucian carp is large, but the yield is not high and the sales income is low. 1400 crucian carp species weighing 30 grams or 1200 crucian carp fingerlings weighing 50 grams per mu are stocked with silver carp, bighead carp and summer grass carp, which can produce more than 500kg crucian carp and 200kg other fish with ideal results.

IV. Water quality management

The content of calcium and phosphorus in crucian carp is more than 2 times that of other fish, so the pond water of crucian carp needs to be rich in calcium and phosphorus to meet the needs of crucian carp. The amount of quicklime solution per mu was 60 kg, applied once in 20 days, and calcium superphosphate was 15 kg per mu, once every 15 days. Only 5 days after the application of quicklime, calcium superphosphate can be applied to prevent the excessive alkalinity of water body and reduce the effect of phosphate fertilizer.
