In recent years, the incidence of broilers is high, and it is not easy to prevent and cure, which increases the feeding cost and reduces the benefit, which makes farmers in a dilemma and helpless. How to raise broilers well and improve their efficiency?

Broiler

Selected improved varieties

Broiler breeds with thin skin and fine bones, plump muscle, delicious meat, strong stress resistance, small and medium-sized body size and colored feathers should be selected. Breeding excellent broiler breeds according to local conditions.

Pay attention to grazing

Grazing can improve the meat quality of broilers. Broilers are raised indoors for about 30 days, and then transferred to the greenhouse for breeding. Grazing began at the age of 30 days in summer, 45 days in spring and autumn and 50-60 days in cold winter. The broiler grazing ground selects bamboo orchard, orchard, tea garden, mulberry garden and other places with high terrain, shelter from the wind and sun, quiet environment, convenient drinking water, no pollution and no animal harm. Grazing grounds can be provided with bunkers for chicken sand bathing. It is also necessary to build grass sheds or plastic sheds to protect broilers from rain, sunshade and cold. When grazing, broilers come out early and return late, the grazing density is 50 ~ 70 / mu, and the size of each group is about 500. In order to prevent broilers from getting lost or endangering nearby crops, fences can be set up and kept for sale.

Skillfully feed

Feed can also affect the meat quality of broilers. Broilers should be fed with digestible and nutritious full-price feed during the broiler rearing period. Due to the slow growth rate of broilers, the content of crude protein in feed is 2% lower than that of large broilers, and a small amount of meals promotes the healthy development of chicks. Broilers in breeding and grazing period should be fed more green fodder, agricultural by-products and local grains in order to improve meat quality and reduce feed cost. generally, broilers returning late are only fed with compound feed. 7-14 days before sale, if the chicken is thinner, the amount of formula feed can be increased, grazing can be restricted and moderate fattening can be carried out.

Strict epidemic prevention

In general, native chicken has strong disease resistance and less disease. However, because of its long feeding period, coupled with grazing in the wild, the probability of infection is high, so hygiene, disinfection and epidemic prevention should be done well. Coccidiosis, leukocytosis and parasitic diseases of the digestive tract should be paid special attention to and checked frequently. Once they occur, they should be dispelled in time. In the middle and later stages of broilers, try not to use synthetic drugs, use more traditional Chinese medicine and take biological control to reduce and control drug residues in chicken meat.

Timely sale

A suitable feeding period will help to improve the meat quality of broilers. The feeding period is too short, the water content is too much, the nutrition, fresh flavor, aromatic substances are less, the meat quality is not good, the taste is not fresh; the feeding period is too long, the muscle fiber is too old, the feeding cost is too high, it is not cost-effective. According to the growth characteristics of native chicken, the time to market was determined as follows: 100 days for small broilers and 120 days for hens; 110 days for medium broilers and 130 days for hens.
