persimmon fruit drop

physiological fruit drop

Physiological fruit drop of persimmon occurs mostly from flower drop to mid-July, the most serious before and after wheat harvest, accounting for about 80% of the annual fruit drop, and fruit drop of individual varieties will occur from August to September. Physiological reasons for fruit drop: One is incomplete flower bud differentiation, resulting in early fruit drop; Second, poor pollination, some varieties, especially most Japanese sweet persimmon, must be equipped with pollination trees, otherwise persimmon can not develop, early fruit drop serious; Third, weather reasons, continuous rainy flowering period, affecting pollination, easy to drop fruit; Fourth, unreasonable tree structure, poor ventilation and light transmission, resulting in persimmon tree growth weak, easy to drop fruit; Fifth, lack of fertilizer and water, long-term dry soil, barren soil, difficult absorption of fertilizer and water, resulting in fruit drop; Sixth, the soil moisture is too much, persimmon and absorption capacity is poor, even if the fertilizer is applied more, persimmon trees are difficult to absorb and utilize, and finally due to insufficient nutrient supply and fruit drop.

Fruit drop due to pests

Persimmons are generally damaged before and after wheat harvest. The first generation of persimmon is not easy to fall off and will always hang on the tree. Larvae parasitize in it and pupate and carry out the second generation damage. The second generation of persimmon victims, color from yellow green to orange, from hard to soft, allow shedding.

Anthracnose occurs late in growth and occurs in large numbers in September, causing fruit drop.

control countermeasures

To prevent persimmon fruit from falling, one is to configure pollination trees (persimmon varieties that must be pollinated); Second, circumscribe the trunk or main branch of strong persimmon tree at flowering stage, with the width not exceeding 0.5cm, and strengthen fertilizer and water supply after circumscribing; Third, properly prune, strengthen summer pruning, remove useless and redundant persimmon branches, and promote ventilation and light transmission; Fourth, prevent and control diseases and insect pests, strengthen fertilizer and water management, and enhance tree vigor; Fifth, spray brassinolide 600 times solution at flowering stage or young fruit stage; Sixth, topdressing once every autumn and spring.
