In summer, the weather is often hot and humid, bad weather and disease natural enemies are frequent, which cause great losses to free-range chickens. Now the problems that are easy to occur and the corresponding measures are sorted out as follows for farmers' reference:

Chicken

I. problems that are easy to arise

1. The chickens died of heat stress and heatstroke caused by hot weather, excessive flock density in the simple chicken house, poor ventilation and chicken herd extrusion.

2. Sudden thunderstorm, strong stress plus dampness, heat and other factors lead to the death of chickens.

3. Due to the insufficient and untimely supply of drinking water, the normal metabolism of chickens appeared obstacles and disease.

4. The invasion and injury of natural enemies such as rats, snakes, eagles, wild beasts and lice.

5. long-term overcast and rain, dampness, reproduction and breeding of pathogenic microorganisms and parasites, causing infectious diseases, parasitic diseases and so on.

6. due to the long-term drought, all kinds of bait such as insects decreased, such as not increasing supplementary feeding in time or imperfect nutritional composition of supplementary feeding, stagnant growth and development of chickens, decrease of disease resistance and so on.

Chicken stocking

II. Technical points

1. Rectify the flock of chickens in time before summer. The cocks that have reached the market standard will be sold in time, and the weak and sick laying hens will be eliminated in time to reduce the density. The flock density in the chicken shed is controlled at 8-10 chickens per square meter.

2. Repair the shed, including strengthening the shed, repairing the drains, filling the low-lying parts of the chicken house floor, repairing the loopholes in the roof, etc., so as to provide a dry and well-ventilated habitat for chickens.

3. Pay attention to the weather changes. The sudden change in the weather, especially before the thunderstorm, drive the chicken back to the shed to prevent the chicken from getting cold due to wet feathers. In case of rainy days, you should stop stocking, leave the chickens in the henhouse, and provide sufficient feed preferably full-price formula feed.

4. When the weather is fine in summer and the temperature in the chicken house is high at noon, it is best not to drive the chicken back to the henhouse to rest, but to rest quietly for 3-4 hours in a place with dense vegetation, smooth air and open terrain, and a water fountain should be placed in the rest place. to provide clean and adequate drinking water for chickens to meet their drinking needs. In order to reduce the side effects of stress on chickens, a variety of vitamins can be added to drinking water.

5. Adjust the feeding time: start feeding at 05:30, drive the chickens to a cool and ventilated place to rest at 3:30, drive the chickens back but not into the sheds at 6:30 in the afternoon, turn on the trapping lights on the field near the sheds, and allow the chickens to fully enjoy a variety of mosquitoes and other delicacies. At about 10:00 in the evening, let the chickens enter the shed and turn off the lights to rest.

6. when chickens are released, strengthen inspection and drive out eagles, poisonous snakes, rats, weasels, etc., so as to ensure the safety of chickens.

7. Every time it rains. The sewage from the sinkhole on the stocking site should be discharged in time and filled up so as to avoid disease caused by chicken drinking sewage.

8. Strengthen epidemic control, regularly feed chickens with anti-coccidial and antibacterial drugs, inoculate chickens with Newcastle disease I vaccine and fowlpox vaccine before stocking, disinfect the floor and surrounding environment of the shed regularly, disinfect every 15-20 days on sunny days, and disinfect chickens once a week on cloudy and rainy days. Chickens have the habit of sand bath, need to set up a sand bath, can be mixed in the sand parathion, fly phosphos and other drugs, 7-10 days to add medicine, or change sand. Each rotation, only need to use one of the above drugs, so that chickens in the sand bath, the drug will be attached to feathers and skin, in order to control chicken lice, mites, ticks and other external parasites.
