Fetal transformation refers to the early death of pig embryos and is absorbed by sows. Parturition leads to low litter rate of sows, so necessary measures must be taken to prevent sows from aborting.

Sow

1. Strengthen the empty bosom: increase the protein feed and energy feed of the sows 3-14 days before breeding, and add minerals and vitamins to the pig feed to make the sows quickly enter the best state of breeding. For the poor fat sows, the nutrition can be strengthened for a long period of time before mating, and the fat condition and physical strength can be restored as far as possible, so as to facilitate mating, conception, fetal preservation and improve the litter rate.

2. Timely mating: it is best to arrange mating 22-24 hours after estrus in sows. From the perspective of estrus symptoms, the sows changed from extreme excitement to quiet, white filamentous mucus from the vagina, hand pressure on the back of the mother, and the best mating when the pig stood still (static reflex), so that the mortality rate of pig embryo was low and the birth rate was high.

3. Regulation of endocrine: intramuscular injection of 30 mg progesterone into each sow 7 days after mating can effectively reduce the death of pig embryo and prevent the transformation of sow fetus.

4. Improve feed quality: sows during pregnancy should be of good feed quality, and it is strictly forbidden to feed them with mildew, pollution or frozen feed, otherwise sows are prone to food or pesticide poisoning, mild pig embryo poisoning and severe sow death.

5. Control the ambient temperature: in the first week of pregnancy, when the ambient temperature is as high as 32 ℃-35 ℃ in a short time (24 hours), embryo death increases, and breeding with heated boars will also cause embryo death. Therefore, it is best to control the ambient temperature between 15 ℃ and 25 ℃.

6. Proper exercise: sows that do not exercise for a long time have high embryonic mortality. Pregnant sows exercise, mainly free exercise, need to prevent sows from falling. In addition, it is necessary to timely prevent and cure a series of reproductive system diseases in sows.
