The summer weather is hot, because the heat dissipation function of the sheep is poor, if it is not managed properly, it is very easy to cause heatstroke. Heat stroke in sheep includes solar radiation disease, heat radiation disease and so on. Etiology: sunstroke is caused by the scorching sun in the head, which overheats the head and causes brain and meningeal congestion. Heat radiation disease is caused by excessive external temperature, damp, muggy, crowded, narrow in the sheep house, or poor ventilation during transportation, and heat accumulates in the body.

Sheep

Symptoms: in the early stage of sunstroke, sheep are depressed, sometimes dizzy, weak limbs, unstable gait, ataxia, sudden lying on the ground, mental fear, and sometimes cold sweat all over the body. Rapid development of the disease, heart failure, shortness of breath, dysrhythmia, sometimes elevated body temperature, some systemic paralysis, often severe spasms or cramps, rapid death. Heat radiation disease body temperature rises sharply, skin temperature increases, whole body sweating, mental fear, panic, with obvious general brain symptoms, with the rapid deterioration of the disease, heart failure, mucosal cyanosis, dyspnea, before death, body temperature drop, coma, trapped in asphyxiation and cardiac paralysis.

Preventive measures: build a good sheep shed. Sheep pen, pen should be spacious, good ventilation, feeding trough, drinking water should be set up Arbor, or shade with trees, try to avoid overheating environment. Control the density. The hotter the weather, the more sheep like to pile up. If the sheep are too dense and crowded with each other, they will die of heatstroke due to muggy heat. Therefore, for sheep with excessive density, it is necessary to properly remove the flock so that the density of sheep is maintained at 60-80, and each sheep in the house should have a rest area of 0.8 square meters. Do a good job of grazing. For sheep herding in summer, to get out early in the morning and come back late in the afternoon, grazing should choose shady slopes with weak sunlight as far as possible to avoid and shorten the time of direct sunlight. It is strictly forbidden to graze at noon, and night grazing can be carried out in places where conditions permit. Use cold water well. In the hot season, sheep need a lot of water, so they should drink water at least four times a day, especially before grazing and after returning. If the sheep sweat more, you can add some salt properly. To often give the sheep a bath, do not have bath conditions, but also often spray cold water, shower cooling. Do a good job in transportation. When trafficking in sheep, avoid transporting sheep over long distances in hot summer.

Treatment: cooling, once there is heat stroke in sheep, it should be quickly moved to a cool and ventilated place, sprinkle the head of sheep with water or enema with cold water to dissipate heat, or drive sick sheep into the water until the heat is reduced to normal temperature. Bloodletting and fluid replacement, intravenous bloodletting can be carried out according to the size and nutritional status of sheep, while intravenous injection of normal saline or sugar saline 500ml-1000 ml. Symptomatic treatment for excited sheep, intramuscular injection of chlorpromazine 2 ml-4 ml or oral administration of Mabituo 0.1 g-0.4 g, intravenous injection of Jing Songling 2 ml, or intravenous injection of 25% magnesium sulfate 50 ml; when the sheep heart is weak, intramuscular injection of 20% sodium caffeine Sheep with cardiac arrest can be given artificial respiration or Nikezham 210ml with 25% central nervous stimulant, or analgin and other antipyretic drugs or oral administration of cool stomach-strengthening drugs such as gentian, rhubarb, artificial salt, peppermint and so on.
