Pineapple wilt, also known as root rot, is locally known as "pineapple plague". The disease occurs in Hainan, Guangdong, Guangxi, Fujian, Taiwan and other places.

Pineapple wilt

1. Symptoms: in the early stage of infected pineapple, the aboveground basal leaves turned yellow and red, wrinkled, lost luster, the leaf edge curled inward, then the leaf tip withered, the leaf withered and the plant stopped growing. With the development of the disease, the root tip rot gradually expanded to part or all of the root rot, and the plant withered. Most people think that pineapple wilt is caused by virus infection carried by pineapple pink scale.

2. Morbidity condition: ① climate factor. It is easy to occur in autumn and winter with high temperature and drought, but also in spring with low temperature and overcast and rain. Pineapple wilt mostly occurred from November to January-February of the following year in Hainan Province. ② plant growth factors. In general, the plots with exuberant pineapple plant growth, high level of fertilizer and water and high density are prone to disease and serious. ③ environmental condition factors. Hillside depression, easy to stagnant water, steep hillside, serious soil erosion, root exposure, poor water retention, root system easy to wither and wither. ④ underground pest factor. Such as grubs, termites, earthworms and other sucking pineapple underground roots can aggravate Fusarium wilt.

3. Prevention and control techniques: ① strictly selects disease-free pineapple seedlings. Do not leave seeds from disease areas and disease fields for introduction. If introduced from the disease area, the root and stem base of the seedling must be soaked in the medicine solution for 2 minutes, and placed inverted on the side, and the medicine liquid should be accumulated at the base of the leaf to kill the remaining pink scale in the pineapple seedling, and wait for it to dry before planting. The seedlings can be soaked with 50% marathon EC 800 times, 40% dimethoate 800-1000 times or 80% dichlorvos EC 1000 times.

② fertilizer treatment. When diseased plants are found, the above agents can be mixed with 50% methyl topiramate wettable powder 400 times and 1-2% urea to promote the green of yellow leaves. The soil around the diseased pineapple plant and the base of other healthy plants should be drenched with any of the above insecticides to kill pink scale and underground pests.

③ improved the garden environment. Choose the planting garden. Strengthen management. High border planting should be adopted to avoid stagnant water and soil erosion in pineapple orchard. To kaolin and clayey soil, organic fertilizer should be applied to improve soil ventilation, promote root growth, dig out diseased pineapple plants and burn them in time.
