How to prevent and cure scabies of meat donkey in summer
With the improvement of economic benefits of meat donkeys, there are more and more large-scale breeding of meat donkeys, and scabies of meat donkeys continue to occur, especially in summer. Scabies of meat donkey is a chronic parasitic skin disease caused by mite invasion of meat donkey skin. Contagious, in large-scale breeding, attention should be paid to hygiene, epidemic prevention and prevention.
Meat donkey
1. The pathogen of donkey scabies
The most common pathogens of donkey scabies are scabies mites (perforated scabies) and itch mites (sucking scabies). The scabies mite parasites in the deep layer of the skin of the donkey and forms an insect track. The female lays eggs in the insect track and hatches larvae after 3-7 days under suitable conditions. The larvae become nymphs after molting for 3-4 days, and the nymphs become adults after molting again. The itch mite parasites on the hairy skin surface of the meat donkey and reproduces and develops.
2. Epidemic characteristics of donkey scabies
Scabies is mainly caused by direct contact between healthy donkeys and sick donkeys or indirect contact with contaminated barns, appliances, saddle harness and so on. Under the conditions of damp stables, poor hygiene of donkeys, long and dense hair and high skin surface humidity in summer, it is the most suitable for scabies to develop and breed.
3. Symptoms of donkey scabies
When the donkey gets sick, it begins with the head, neck and side of the body, and then spreads to the shoulders, back and whole body. Skin itching, often rely on friction or gnawing, affected skin nodules, blisters, broken after the formation of crusts, hair loss, skin hypertrophy, wrinkles, sick donkeys increasingly thin.
4. Diagnosis of donkey scabies
It can be diagnosed according to the symptoms and epidemic characteristics of scabies in donkeys. If necessary, scrape the dandruff of the affected part of the donkey and examine it under microscope for the presence of mites.
5. Treatment of donkey scabies
Before treating the diseased donkey, 2% Laisu water should be used to wash the affected part and remove the crusts, so as to give full play to the insecticidal effect of the liquid. Then rub the affected area with 0.5%-1% trichlorfon solution, once a day. At the same time, the donkey was subcutaneously injected with 1% ivermectin, 2 ml for every 100 kg of donkey weight. The second injection was given at an interval of 7 to 10 days. When injecting ivermectin, be careful not to overdose, so as not to cause poisoning.
6. In the large-scale breeding of meat donkeys, if cases of scabies are found, the diseased donkeys should be isolated in time to prevent infection, treat them in time, and pay attention to epidemic prevention and disinfection in time. Disinfect the donkey shed with 3% laisu every 10 to 15 days to prevent the occurrence of disease. Brushing the body of the donkey several times a day can stimulate the skin to promote blood circulation, enhance body surface exercise, and drive away lice, mites and other external parasites.
