Due to the high temperature and humidity in summer, broilers are prone to heatstroke, resulting in rapid illness, rapid death and a large number of deaths, which bring serious economic losses to chicken farmers. Therefore, summer meat heat prevention needs to be in place.

Broiler

Cause of the disease:

High feeding density, insufficient ventilation, improper ventilation, insufficient amount of drinking water, high temperature and high humidity are easy to make broilers get heatstroke. According to relevant data, adult broilers begin to gasp when the temperature reaches 27 ℃; when the temperature reaches 33 ℃, broilers are in a state of heat stress; when the temperature reaches 35 ℃ for 10 minutes, broilers die, and the time of death is mostly between 10 and 16:00, and the nocturnal deaths of broilers are mostly caused by poor ventilation.

Clinical symptoms:

Heatstroke broilers showed shortness of breath, gasping for breath, wings open, water consumption increased sharply, food intake decreased, heavy ones could not stand, collapsed and died of convulsion, and most of them were obese chickens, and there was a lot of water in the crop.

Specific prevention and control measures:

The main results are as follows: 1. Reduce the feeding density and reduce the feeding amount of broilers per unit area. Standardized chicken coop, it is recommended to raise 8 broilers per square meter, loose shed, 6 chickens per square meter.

2. Increase the air volume, improve the wind speed and ensure good ventilation. The current standardized chicken coop is longitudinally ventilated in summer. The small air inlets on both sides should be closed and the large air inlets should be opened so that the chicken coop can achieve a certain wind speed. For the simple shed, a small fan can be installed for ventilation.

3. Administration of anti-heat stress drugs to enhance the anti-stress ability of broilers. 500 kg plus 100-150 g in feed and 1 ‰ baking soda in drinking water for broilers. At the same time, reduce the temperature of drinking water, drink 8 ℃ ~ 10 ℃ of deep well water, change water frequently to ensure adequate drinking water.

4. for heatstroke chickens, soak in cold water, or after soaking in cold water, blow with an electric fan, rely on the evaporation of water to take away the heat of broilers and reduce the somatosensory temperature.

5. With high temperature and humidity in summer, broilers raised on the ground should change the bedding frequently to reduce the environmental humidity so as to alleviate the adverse effects of heat stress.
