Chicken coccidiosis is a common acute epidemic protozoa in chickens. The disease is widely distributed, common and harmful. Chickens aged 15-50 days are most likely to be infected with coccidiosis, but laying hens with peak parturition have also occurred in recent years, and the mortality rate is high, especially in summer when the temperature is more than 20 ℃ and 30 ℃ and Rain Water is the most popular. The egg laying rate of diseased chickens increases slowly and the case fatality rate is high. Often mixed infection with Escherichia coli increases the case fatality rate of chickens, and the economic benefit decreases.

First, symptoms and pathological changes. In general, the laying rate of first-time laying hens rises to about 60% at about 160 days. The sick chicken died suddenly without any symptoms on the surface. The feces are very thin and have a fishy smell. Bloody stools can be found in feces. Autopsy changes: two cecums were significantly enlarged, which could be 3-5 times of normal, brownish red or dark red, cecal epithelium thickened, severe erosion or even necrosis and shedding, and the cecum was often filled with substances mixed with cecal contents and blood clots. Sometimes the intestines are filled with coagulated or fresh blood. In the middle part of the small intestine, the intestinal wall dilated and thickened, with severe necrosis, obvious light white spots in the site of merozoite reproduction, many small bleeding spots on the mucosa, coagulated blood or carrot gel-like contents in the intestine. In some cases, there are bleeding spots the size of a big needle on the intestinal wall and severe bleeding on the mucous membrane. In some cases, the intestines are thick, there are a large number of bleeding spots on the intestinal mucosa, and there are a lot of purple-black blood with exfoliated intestinal epithelial cells in the intestines.

Second, prevention and control. The principle of Chinese herbal medicine and western medicine should be mastered in the prevention and control of coccidia in laying hens. Because the general anti-coccidial drugs have a certain impact on egg production, excessive use of western medicine will damage the reproductive system of chickens, thus affecting the egg-laying function of chickens.

1. Strengthen the feeding and management. Keep the chicken house dry, ventilated and sanitary, so as to restrain the sporidization of coccidial oocysts; regularly remove feces, padding materials, and stack fermentation at a fixed point, and use biological heat to kill eggs; the ground is regularly treated with 3%-5% caustic soda or 20% quicklime milk.

2. Drug therapy. Artemisia powder: Artemisia 200g, Changshan 200g, Baitouweng 180g, Qinpi 100g, Sophora flavescens 150g, Coptis 70g, Bupleurum 100g, licorice 100g, Wumei 100g add an appropriate amount of water to take juice for drinking water, the dregs can be mixed with 400 jin of feed, the severe amount can be increased as appropriate, and the medicine can be given once according to the chicken feed (drink medicine + spices), generally for five days, and then with Dikezhu drinking water, at the same time, add a small amount of vitamin K in the water, can have a very good effect.

Third, a summary. In summer, the air temperature is high, and the henhouse is often sprayed with some water in order to cool the chicken, which increases the humidity in the house, which is more conducive to the development of coccidia eggs. Improper feeding and management and inadequate sanitary disinfection in some chicken farms make the disease spread in the house; therefore, in order to effectively control the disease, comprehensive prevention and control must be carried out by improving the environment and reducing the pressure of infection, with emphasis on timely removal of chicken dung and bedding materials, ventilation and ventilation.
