When the laying rate of laying hens is 80-90%, it enters the laying peak period, and the general laying peak period of laying hens is only about 4 months. Therefore, strengthening feeding and management is to prolong the laying peak period of laying hens, which can improve the egg production and economic benefits of laying hens.

Laying hens

Sufficient protein:

During the laying peak, the demand for protein increases with the increase of the laying rate, the laying rate increases by 10%, the crude protein content in the diet of laying hens increases by 1%, and when the laying rate is 90%, the crude protein content in the diet of laying hens is about 19%. When the egg production of laying hens begins to decline, the dietary protein level should be maintained for a week and then lowered, which can delay the decline of laying rate.

Control dietary energy levels:

During the peak laying period, the energy level per kilogram of diet should be controlled at about 2.75 MCAL. If the energy is too high, the feed intake of laying hens will be reduced and lack of protein; if the energy is too low, the feed intake of laying hens will be increased and protein will be wasted.

Enough calcium:

Laying hens during the peak laying period, should be properly supplemented with calcium, with the change of the laying rate, the diet should contain 3%-4% calcium, fed every afternoon, the effect is better. Calcium supplement at the same time, can be placed in the henhouse or sports ground filled with shell powder, bone powder and other calcareous feed basin to allow laying hens to eat freely.

Appropriate amount of additives:

During the laying period, 100g multivitamin, vitamin AD3 powder 1kg, choline chloride 1kg, methionine 1kg and trace element auxin 1 kg should be added to each ton of feed. Baking soda powder, protein essence, choline and fat can also be properly used to improve the laying rate and egg weight of laying hens.

Correct lighting:

During the laying peak, the light time of chickens should reach 16 hours a day. Once the light time is determined, it can not be reduced, otherwise it will easily lead to a decrease in the laying rate of layers. If the illumination time is too long, the damage rate of eggs will be increased. The light intensity is 3 to 5 watts per square meter of ground.
