Points for attention in raising pigs under heat stress due to underdeveloped sweat glands in pigs in summer

With the advent of summer, the sweat glands of pigs are underdeveloped and their ability to regulate body temperature is poor. when the temperature of the pig house reaches 35 ℃ and the humidity exceeds 65% for more than 72 hours, it is very easy to cause heat stress syndrome of pigs. If it is light, it grows slowly, stops weight gain, and dies of heatstroke. Experts have put forward some suggestions for farmers on how to prevent heat and cool down pigs in summer.

1. Shade: the pig farm is built in a place with open ventilation and chooses to sit north and face south. Before the arrival of the high temperature season, use firewood, branches and so on to build a simple Arbor on the sunny side of the pig house.

2. Planting green: planting some trees and flowers around the pigsty can not only beautify and afforest the environment, but also block the sun, and make use of plant photosynthesis to absorb heat and reduce the temperature.

3. Ventilation: change the pig house door into a ventilation door, strengthen ventilation, remove harmful gases, and ensure air circulation in the pig house.

4. Spray water: when the temperature of the pigsty exceeds 30 ℃, spray water once an hour. Free-range farmers can build a shallow pool in the corner of the pigsty to soak the pigs in the pool.

5, air conditioning cooling: piggery equipped with air conditioning, not only can cool, but also can control humidity, is the best heat prevention and cooling measures, but the cost is high.

6. Add sunshade net and heat insulation film to the roof of the piggery to reflect sunlight by diffuse reflection and scattering of light to reduce the phenomenon of serious high temperature caused by direct sunlight.
