Postpartum fever in sows is easy to occur in the summer and autumn high temperature period. Postpartum sows 1 Mel 3 days after delivery are caused by high fever due to uterine infection, which is called postpartum fever. The clinical symptoms were as follows: elevated body temperature, 40.5 ℃, 41.5 mol / L, lying fond of lying, fasting or not eating, body trembling, faster breathing, decreased lactation, and secretion of dense substances in the vulva.

Sow

Postpartum fever in sows is often caused by lax delivery and disinfection. When giving birth, the fetus is too large, squeeze the birth canal, or the midwife's arm is not disinfected, reach into the birth canal to touch, can cause postpartum fever. In particular, the weather is muggy, the shed is poorly ventilated, the postpartum sow body heat increases, it is difficult to dissipate heat, the probability of bacterial infection increases, and it is easy to cause post-production fever.

Treatment: treatment should be as early as possible, according to body temperature, appetite, spirit and other conditions, respectively mild and severe, the right medicine. Mild illness: body temperature is about 40.5 ℃, do not eat, the spirit is OK. Intramuscular injection of penicillin 1.2 million units and streptomycin 1.5g mixture twice a day for 3 days, and 20Mel 40 units of hypophysin twice a day for 3 days. Severe disease: sow body temperature above 41 ℃, depressed spirit, like lying, no food, shiver, lochia more. Add 10 ml of 20% ampere sodium and 10 ml of tetracycline hydrochloride, 1.5 grams of tetracycline hydrochloride, dissolved in 500 ml of 5% glucose saline, once intravenously; intramuscular injection of 20 Mel 40 units of vasopressin. The above three drugs were given 1 Mel twice a day for 3 days.

Prevention: 1. Seven days before delivery, the litter shed and appliances shall be thoroughly disinfected with 2% caustic soda solution or formaldehyde solution. 2. Sows should be gradually reduced in prenatal diet and not fed before parturition, which is conducive to smooth delivery. 3. Sows before and after delivery, scrub the vulva and breasts with 0.1% potassium permanganate solution. 4. If you have difficulty in giving birth, use Pituitrin 20Mel 40 units intramuscularly to induce labor. Try not to reach into the birth canal and touch it. when you have to, wash the operator's arm with 0.1% potassium permanganate solution and apply sulfonamide ointment to prevent infection of the birth canal. 5. The changes of spirit, appetite, lactation and body temperature of sows should be closely observed within 3 days after delivery. When giving birth in hot season, sulfonamides and vasopressin are used to prevent postpartum fever at the end of labor.
