Straw nutrition value is low, palatability is poor, cattle do not like to eat. After processing, the original volume and physical and chemical characteristics of straw are changed, which is convenient for cattle to eat, increases the palatability and nutrition of straw, makes cattle grow faster, and improves the breeding benefit.

straw feed cattle

Alkali-acid combined treatment. Put the short straw into a wooden barrel or pool, add 1.5 - 2% sodium hydroxide solution, soak it, take it out, put it into a cellar and compact it, after 12 - 24 hours, take it out, still put it into a wooden barrel or pool, soak it with 3% hydrochloric acid, and then drain the solution to feed cattle. After this treatment, the digestibility of rice straw increased by 20~30%, and the utilization rate increased by 60%.

Ammoniation treatment. After ammoniated rice straw, the digestibility of crude fiber, protein and organic matter increased by 6.4~11%, 10.6~12.2% and 4.7~8%, respectively. At the same time, ammoniated rice straw could supplement protein, and its nutritional value approached or reached the level of green hay. Production method: put short straw into drying cellar compaction, every 100 kilograms of straw add 12 liters of 25% ammonia or 6.5 liters of urea aqueous solution, fill up and seal tightly. After 5~7 days, open, ventilate, wait for ammonia smell to disappear, then feed cattle.

Enzymatic fermentation. The short straw was fermented with cellulase preparation, which increased protein by 17.6%, crude fat by 62.8%, and the straw texture became soft. After straw treatment, feed intake of cattle was increased, gastrointestinal diseases were reduced, and fat gain and rejuvenation of cattle were promoted.

Combined treatment of sodium hydroxide and lime. Short straw is sprayed with a mixture of 1.6% sodium hydroxide and 1.5 - 2% lime with a sprayer, and then compacted. Then spread straw in turn and spray the mixture. Feeding cattle after stacking for one week, the digestibility of crude fiber increased by 30%.

Lime treatment. Every 100 kilograms of short straw is mixed with 3 kilograms of quicklime or hydrated lime, 1 - 1.5 kilograms of salt, added with 200 - 500 liters of water, stirred evenly, soaked for 2 - 3 hours, taken out, placed on the ground for compaction, and fed to cattle after 3 hours. Or put short straw in 12% quicklime water soak for more than 12 hours, take out, you can feed cattle.
