Four-phase management of meat breeder pigeon with poor efficiency in degenerated breeding
The benefit of raising meat pigeons lies in raising breeding pigeons to cultivate squab supply market, so whether breeding pigeons can be raised well is the key to the good benefit of meat pigeon breeding industry. Practice has proved that each pair of breeding pigeons produces 610 pairs of squab per year, and the annual net profit is about 80,150 yuan. However, according to the survey, the benefits of many pigeon farmers are not up to standard, because the introduced breeding pigeons are not in a good sexual state or seriously degraded and improperly raised. In order to raise meat breeding pigeons well, we must pay attention to the "four-phase" management of meat breeding pigeons.
Meat pigeon
Pairing period: 6-and-a-half-month-old meat pigeons have the best pairing, forced pairing at night. Paired male and female pigeons with similar body size, weight and coat color. After pairing, the four eggs laid are the same mother. Those who often produce azygote eggs after pairing should be rematched. For those who do not lay eggs after pairing, male pigeons can be injected intramuscularly with testosterone propionate 5 mg / time, once more after 3-5 days, or oral vitamin E, one pill for each. After matching, those who often fight are also rematched, and after the rematch, the two sides are separated so that they can't see each other.
Egg-holding period: the meat pigeon begins to lay eggs 10-15 days after pairing, and the egg nest is covered with hemp, short straw or pine needle grass 2 days before laying. During the incubation period, prevent Rain Water from invading, sowing eggs with blisters or dipping in water will die. Prevent cushion material from being soiled and wet. If it is soiled and wet, it should be replaced in time. Do not leave the belly feather of the parent pigeon. When the weather is hot, reduce the bedding grass, open more windows, wash the ground with cold water or spray to cool down; when the weather is cold, add bedding, pay attention to keep warm, and keep warm below 6 ℃. The eggs were treated once on the 5th day and 12th day after hatching, and the azoospermic eggs and dead embryo eggs were taken out in time; at 17-18 days, the condition of the chicks was checked, and if it was difficult to get out of the shell, it was necessary to peel the eggs manually and only peel less than 1 inch.
Brooding period: feed with high nutrition, 18% protein, more than 2800 kcal / kg of metabolic energy, 5 or 6 times a day. Take good care of pigeons, single pigeons should be combined with their nests. At the age of 15 days, the pigeons were moved to the net at the bottom of the cage.
Moulting period: breeding pigeons have to molt once every year in late summer and early autumn, for about 1-2 months. At this time, you can increase hemp kernel by 10% in meat pigeon feed, add 200 grams of gypsum powder or 100 grams of sulfur powder for every 50 kilograms of health sand, and add multivitamin to eliminate meat breeding pigeons with poor production performance in time, and then select and supplement them from the back-up breeding pigeons.
