Pregnant ewes have different nutritional requirements at different stages, so reasonable feeding should be carried out accordingly.

The first month of ewe pregnancy is the critical period of fetal growth and development. After ewe graze and feed to satiety, concentrate should be supplemented according to ewe nutritional status.

After 2 months of pregnancy, ewes should gradually increase the amount of concentrate supplement, soybean 40%, corn 30%, barley 20%, wheat 10%, soak in warm water for 6-8 hours, grind into slurry, add soybean and other total feed 10-15% bean cake, 5-8% bran, 1% salt, feed 2-3 times a day, feed 50- 100g each time, young ewes feed appropriately increased.

After 3 months of pregnancy, the ewes should properly control the amount of forage feed, supplement forage and concentrate feed less frequently, in case of feeding too much at one time and oppressing the fetus.

After 4 months of pregnancy, the concentrate feeding amount of ewes shall be increased to twice that of early pregnancy, and green and juicy feeds such as tender grass and carrots shall be fed more. Potato, distiller's grains, cottonseed cake and rapeseed cake without detoxification shall be prohibited from being fed, and mildewed, deteriorated, too cold or overheated and acidic feeds shall be prohibited to avoid abortion, dystocia and postpartum diseases of ewes.

Prenatal about 1 month, control coarse feed amount, try to feed soft texture, green and juicy feed, concentrate increased bran feed amount, in order to pass intestinal defecation. 10 days before parturition, reduce feed amount according to digestion and appetite of ewes. 2-3 days before delivery, ewe udder swelling and accompanied by abdominal edema, diet should be reduced by one-half to one-third of the feeding amount, in order to prevent excessive milk or milk concentration in the early stage of delivery caused by mastitis, lamb diarrhea.
