I. rational layout of pigeon farms

Build meat pigeon farms in quiet areas with high and dry terrain, convenient drainage, adequate water sources and good water quality, far away from schools and traffic lines; pigeon farms should be especially far away from other poultry farms, slaughterhouses, livestock and poultry product processing plants, there should be a certain distance between meat pigeon nursery, breeding house and feed preparation, in the event of epidemic disease, it can be easy to isolate and prevent mutual infection.

Second, turn off good feed and drinking water

Feed and drinking water are the material basis and guarantee of raising meat pigeons. If feeding does not pay attention to feed hygiene and drinking water disinfection, feed and drinking water can become the source of infection of pathogens. It is forbidden to feed moldy and seriously polluted feed, keep drinking water clean and free of pathogens, regularly monitor the water quality of pigeon farms, and regularly add sodium hypochlorite, permethrin, poison king and other disinfection to drinking water to ensure the safety of drinking water and feed.

Do a good job in environmental hygiene

Good environmental conditions are the necessary conditions and guarantee for the success of meat pigeon breeding, and poor environmental conditions will induce a variety of diseases. Pigeon house temperature should be 27-32 ℃, humidity 50-60%; pigeon house, pigeon cage, egg nest, food trough, sink, floor should be kept clean, disinfected regularly, at least once a week; there is no moldy and deteriorated feed left in the trough. Kill rats and insects regularly, pay attention to ventilation, prevent harmful gases from accumulating in the pigeon house, remove feces and weeds around the pigeon house in time, and eliminate pathogens. When the staff enter the pigeon house to change clothes, change shoes and wash hands, it is best to use ultraviolet disinfection to control and eliminate pathogens to ensure the safety of meat pigeons.
