Lambs raised in captivity for a long time are prone to anaemia. The methods of prevention and treatment of lamb anemia are introduced as follows:

Lamb

(1) the feed nutrition should be comprehensive, and the trace element iron should be added according to the normal amount, or fed with deep pollution-free red soil to prevent iron deficiency anemia of lambs.

(2) mix 4.5 grams of ferrous sulfate, 7.5 grams of copper sulfate, 45 grams of sugar and 200 milliliters of water and feed them between meals to facilitate iron absorption, but not with milk, because milk contains high phosphorus, which affects iron absorption.

(3) subcutaneous injection of 0.1% sodium selenite injection 2ml, once a day for one week.

(4) Vitamin B12, 5 × 10 ml, intramuscular injection, once every 2 to 3 days, vitamin C, 50 mg, 100 mg, 3 times a day, and folic acid, 15 mg, 20 mg, 3 times a day.

(5) Iron treatment. The anemic lambs were injected intramuscularly with iron, selenium and cobalt for several days. The lambs can also be fed with ferrous sulfate pills, 10-20 tablets at a time, once a day for several days.

(6) traditional Chinese medicine therapy. Can use Codonopsis pilosula, Atractylodes macrocephala, Shenqu, Magnolia, Hawthorn, Poria cocos, cooked land each 30 grams, a fried service. Or Angelica 50 grams, red ginseng 5 grams, Atractylodes macrocephala 25 grams, raw 25 grams, once fried. Or 50 grams of chicken blood vine, fried in water, 1 dose a day.

(7) Diet therapy. Provide the lamb with food with high iron content as soon as possible. You can feed hard-boiled egg yolk, start feeding half a day, gradually increase to 1, and then feed whole eggs or soybean milk. Big lambs can be fed with wild vegetables, grass, soybean milk, animal liver and so on. After the lamb touches the topsoil, it does not have to be mended.

(8) causative therapy. Lamb anemia caused by Ascaris lumbricoides and hookworm should be treated with deworming. Lamb anemia caused by chronic hepatitis or glomerulonephritis should be treated routinely.
