Asparagus overwintering field management includes garden cleaning, topdressing, watering, loosening soil, disinfection, weeding and other measures, the purpose of which is to ensure the safe overwintering of asparagus and make full preparations for harvest in the following year.

Asparagus management

Clear garden refers to the thorough cleaning of asparagus fields, mainly to remove withered asparagus stems and stubble leaves. Clearing the garden is not only conducive to harvest, but also an important measure for the prevention and control of diseases and insect pests and grass pests. Cleaning the garden must be clean and thorough, especially the land with serious diseases and insect pests. Thorough cleaning of the garden is conducive to reducing pathogens and controlling the occurrence of diseases. The specific methods are as follows:

1. Pull out the dead branches and clean the bamboo shoot field. When the stem branches on the asparagus ground withered completely, use your hands to pull out the stem branches. When the aboveground part is not completely withered, it can not be pulled out, otherwise it will waste nutrients and affect the yield and quality of asparagus in the following year. In addition, when cleaning the garden, do not use a knife to cut, to pull out the withered stem individually, clear the stubble, and sweep out the bamboo shoot field together with the dead branches and leaves, and burn it centrally.

2. Soil disinfection, prevention and control of diseases and pests. After strictly clearing the garden, there are still a considerable number of bacteria in the soil. In order to further reduce the number of bacteria and control the occurrence of diseases, soil disinfection should be carried out after clearing the garden. The methods are as follows: ⑴ sprays chlorothalonil or 50% carbendazim 300,500 times; ⑵ irrigates roots with 500600 times of carbendazim or 120,200 times of agricultural resistance. ⑶ sprinkled on the soil surface with fine sand mixed with carbofuran, 1.5kg of carbofuran per mu and 15kg of soil.

3. Topdressing, watering, loosening soil and weeding. When topdressing on both sides of asparagus, it is necessary to stay away from the root system. Generally, 50 kg of compound fertilizer per mu and 1000 kg of high-quality rotten soil fertilizer are applied. After topdressing, it is necessary to water in time, and timely hoe and loosen the soil to preserve soil moisture, increase moisture and raise temperature. After fertilization, the herbicide chloraniline was sprayed with 140-200 ml per mu to control annual weeds (before the young stem sprouted in early spring, after ploughing and cultivating soil, mixed herbicides could be sprayed with 140 ml per mu, 70 ml per mu to control annual weeds and forbidden herbicides during harvest).

Note: ⑴ removal of dead branches should be carried out in the next few days when it is sunny and fine, and cannot be watered immediately after pulling, otherwise it is easy to cause asparagus wound infection and cause underground rot. ⑵ stumps and litter should be removed thoroughly and burned centrally away from asparagus fields. When applying ⑶ fertilizer, the fertilizer must be far away from asparagus, do not hurt the root system, and fully mature farm manure should be used.
