Last Updated: 2024/09/19, Piglets need to be trained to join the conservation of weaned piglets.

(1) disinfection of the barracks. Before entering, piglets should be thoroughly cleaned, washed and disinfected to kill bacteria; after entering, piglets should be disinfected regularly (2 or 3 times a week) to clean up pig feces, urine and other dirt in time.

Piglet conservation

(2) grouping and training. When grouping, according to the principle of keeping the same nest in the same circle and similar size and weight of piglets, individuals that are too small and too weak should be raised separately to reduce bite injury and be conducive to emotional stability and normal growth of piglets. To do a good job of piglet training, after piglets enter the nursery, the breeder should teach piglets to distinguish between sleeping area and excretion area.

(3) suitable feeding density. Large-scale pig farms require nurseries to raise 15 to 20 piglets per ring, up to a maximum of 25 piglets. The floor of the enclosure is leaky or semi-leaky, accounting for 0.3 to 0.5 square meters per piglet.

(4) create a good and comfortable environment. The optimum ambient temperature for nursing pigs was 30 ℃ for newly weaned piglets, and then decreased from 3 ℃ per week to 22 ℃ per week. The most suitable relative humidity is 65% and 75%.

(5) improve adequate clean drinking water. Electrolytes such as glucose, potash, sodium salt or vitamins, antibiotics and other drugs were added to the drinking water within 7 to 10 days after weaning to improve piglet resistance, promote piglet intake and growth, and prevent diarrhea caused by dirty water.

(6) strengthen feeding and management. The feed intake of piglets should be controlled within 5-6 days after weaning, 70% to 80% full, feeding less and more meals (6 times a day and 8 times a night), and gradually transition to free feeding. The total amount of feed intake is based on the principle of allowing piglets to feed as much as possible on the premise that there is no nutritional diarrhea. Piglets were fed with different diets at different ages. When piglets first entered the nursery, they were first fed with milk substitutes for about one week to reduce the stress caused by feed changes, and then gradually transferred to conservation diets. The feed should be kept properly and should be added after eating the feed in the trough to ensure that the feed is fresh and prevent it from mildew.

(7) do a good job of immune injection and deworming. Piglets in the nursery should not be vaccinated too much, mainly vaccinated with classical swine fever, swine pseudorabies, foot-and-mouth disease vaccine, including Ascaris lumbricoides, scabies mites, lice, nematodes and other internal and external parasites, the appropriate deworming time is 35 ~ 40 days old. The parasites were mixed with avermectin 0.2 mg per kg body weight or levamisole 10 mg per kg body weight, fed in the morning and fed again the next morning.
