A few hours before the typhoon warning was issued, he came to the "Risen Organic Pear Orchard" in Sanxing Township, Ilan. Liao Junqin, the boss, was busy picking freshly ripe pears, while making preparations for the defense platform, putting away the signboards above, and inspecting the drainage facilities in the garden one by one, fearing that there would be showers in the afternoon.

Liao Junqin took care of the pear orchard from the soil at his feet, emphasizing that there was good soil to nurture good fruit trees and fruits. During planting, he did not apply pesticides, but only used the ecological balance of nature to maintain the vitality of the orchard. His pears are no bigger than others, but the taste is crisp, the flesh is meticulous, juicy and sweet. He even twice won the first prize in the evaluation of pear in Sanxing Township, and this year's harvest is on a par with habitual cultivation. Having been growing pears organically for more than a decade, Liao Chun-chin points out the key: "just treat each pear as a treasure!"

It takes more effort to do organic work. Liao Junqin changed his bag three times to protect baby pears.

"there is a fine line between organic and laziness." Liao Junqin believes that organic is by no means laissez-faire to the orchard, but putting more effort into taking care of it. The pear orchard, which was harvested at the end of June, is not afraid of typhoons, only that it will encounter a cold spell when it is grafted at the end of the year before last. The grafting technology of pear ears is related to whether pear trees blossom or not. The average farmer's grafting healing rate is at most 50%. After years of hard work and research skills, Liao Junqin has made the grafting healing rate more than 90%.

In addition, in order to prevent the outbreak of heart borer and subsequent pests that began in late February, pear farmers are used to putting large bags on pears at the beginning of April (Ching Ming Festival). However, Liao Junqin chose to complete the bagging of golden pear and Fengshui pear early and before mid-February, and in order to ensure that the bag really protected the fruit, he deliberately used a smaller bagging, but the disadvantage was that more than a month later, it is expected to be replaced by a large bag at the end of March and early April to avoid fruit growth breaking the bag. In May, I have to change the bag for the last time. "I have to change the bag for a total of three times. I am really different!" Liao Junqin mocked himself that no one worked so hard as he did, taking every pear as his own treasure and taking care of it one by one.

The output is "ticked". This year's bumper harvest is about the same as the usual output.

After years of experimentation and improved planting methods, Liao Junqin is now more and more able to take care of organic pear orchards. In addition, with less cold damage and no interference from Meiyu this year, the yields of Fengshui pears and golden pears have reached record highs, and this year's harvest is almost on a par with the usual practice. Liao Junqin smiled when interviewed.

He pointed out that when he first stepped into the farm, he knew nothing. The harvest in the first few years from habitual to organic was simply unbearable, and the yield went straight off until he figured out a set of planting techniques. At the same time, the pear trees in the garden also began to adapt to this set of natural farming methods and gradually reached balance with the surrounding organisms and soil. Liao Junqin stressed that the process should not be hasty, and it would take patience and time to build a healthy orchard. "I learn from it, and the fruit trees are getting used to me. When the two people reach a tacit understanding, the output will naturally increase."

After 17 years of walking on the organic road, the change in the yield of the pear orchard is like a "ticking" curve, sinking at the beginning and then climbing straight up, like a smile on the face of the fruit farmer, symbolizing God's affirmation of his efforts over the years.
