The low temperature and short sunshine time in winter have a great influence on the yield of egg quail. In order to balance the production of breeding eggs or commercial eggs, five measures should be taken in quail breeding:

Winter management of quail

Heat preservation and warming: the temperature is directly related to the laying and quality of quail eggs. The optimum temperature of quail house is 22 ℃ 24 ℃, which is more than 30 ℃ or less than 17 ℃, which greatly affects the laying of eggs. Therefore, measures of keeping warm and increasing temperature should be taken to raise quails in winter. Cover the quail cage with insulation at night, and increase the cage density. It can raise 100 quails per square meter. You can also build a double-layer plastic greenhouse (5-10cm separated by two layers of film) in the leeward to raise quails in the greenhouse.

Increase the light: laying quails need 14 Murray 16 hours of light per day. Artificial lighting is needed in winter. Every 30mur40 square meters quail house is equipped with 6 40 watt lights with a height of 2.2 meters. The lights are turned on 2 hours before dawn and turned off 2 hours after dark to maintain a stable light intensity and time.

Maintain humidity: laying quails have strong adaptability to the change of humidity in the house, and the best relative humidity in winter is 60%. In addition, to timely ventilation, winter quail houses had better be ventilated by opening and closing skylights, ventilation should be warm at noon.

Balanced nutrition: quails should be fed with nutritious formula feed in winter, and appropriate amount of sand should be provided for quails to feed freely to aid digestion. At the same time, clean and warm water is provided. Winter quail feed balance formula: soybean meal 15%, feed concentrate 10%, fish meal 15%, corn 54%, wheat bran 3.5%, bone meal 1.5%, hay meal 1%, vitamin A, vitamin B and vitamin D are added appropriately.

Quiet environment: keep cages and eating utensils clean and sanitary. Fumigate with 25ml formalin and 12.5g potassium permanganate per cubic meter. Disinfect the food utensils inside and outside the house with 23% Laisuer water every 7 times and 14 days. Quail is timid and frightened, so when feeding, picking up eggs, clearing dung and adding water, the action should be light, do not easily change the breeders.
