Diseased pigs and recessive infected pigs are the main sources of infection of porcine asthma. Pathogens exist in respiratory tract and secretions of diseased pigs for a long time and are excreted with cough and wheezing and transmitted to healthy pigs. When the pigsty is wet, poorly ventilated and the pigs are crowded, it is most likely to develop the disease. Winter and spring are more common. When the climate suddenly changes, damp and cold, feeding management and poor hygiene, the disease can be aggravated.

The incubation period ranges from 3 days to several months. The main symptoms were cough and wheezing. There were no significant changes in body temperature, appetite and spirit in the early stage, but the symptoms were obvious with the development of the disease in the later stage.

In the early stage of the disease, especially in piglets, coughing occurs mainly in the morning and evening when eating or exercising or when the weather suddenly changes, and it is more likely to occur when cold air is stimulated or driven away or fed. It is mostly a single dry cough with a small amount of sticky or purulent nasal juice. With the aggravation of the disease, the cough is also more severe, the number of times increases, turning to continuous multi-sound wet cough. When the sick pig coughs, stand still, arch back stretch neck, head droop, close to the ground, until respiratory secretions cough up or swallow.

In the middle of the disease, the diseased pigs gasped, the abdominal wall fanned rhythmically, and the number of breaths was 40 per minute, 70 times per minute, followed by 100 times, and the piglets were more.

In the later stage of the disease, the pig wheezing aggravated, the shortness of breath and the frequency increased. The sick pig is sitting in a dog posture, breathing with open mouth, the expression is very painful, the cough sound is long and weak, it seems that there are secretions blocking the respiratory tract, it is difficult to cough out, thick nasal juice, foaming mouth, mental fatigue, loss of appetite.

Drug treatment: Hulefen can effectively prevent and cure porcine asthma, the method of use is as follows: piglets after weaning are mixed with 40ppm-50ppm for 2 to 4 weeks; growing and finishing pigs are mixed with 20ppm-50ppm for 2 to 4 weeks; sows for production can be mixed with 20ppm-50ppm for 3 days before delivery and 4 days after delivery and within 1 week after weaning; when the disease disappears, consolidate medication for 2-5 days.
