Pig farm profits come from the rate of commercial pigs, but the survival rate of weaned piglets affects the rate of commercial piglets. In order to ensure a high survival rate, five days after delivery is a critical period for sows. These five days are related to the rapid recovery of the reproductive system of sows after delivery, whether they are infected by bacteria, and whether the lactation ability is in the best condition, which is related to the survival rate of piglets.

Sow

First, observe carefully:

Observe the excretion of lochia in sows, lochia is usually discharged 5 days after delivery, if there are still a large number of lochia or odor after 5 days, indicating that the sow uterus is infected and should be treated in time.

2. Feeding methods of sows:

Sows should control their feed intake on the first day after parturition. Eating too much is not conducive to uterine recovery. The sows were fed 2.5-3.0kg on the first day, and then increased by 0.5kg every day until the fifth day. If it is summer, feed it six times a day, preferably at night.

Postpartum health care of sows:

Long-acting oxytetracycline was injected intramuscularly on the first and fourth day after parturition, which could prevent postpartum infection and yellow and white dysentery of piglets by milk. 100 g Yimu Shenghua Powder was fed daily for 7 days. It is beneficial to the recovery of sow uterus and the prevention of mastitis.

Fourth, the treatment method of no milk or less milk in sows after delivery:

If there is no milk or less milk in the sow caused by mastitis, use cephalosporin intramuscular injection or infusion. If there is no milk caused by lack of nutrition, cook fish soup for pigs and add high-quality fish meal to the feed.

Fifth, the treatment method of sows refusing to lactation:

Postpartum rejection of breast-feeding often occurs in the first-born sows, and the physiological changes of the first-born sows are great, especially the pain and fear of delivery make the timid sows have a fear of breastfeeding, so they do not lie down to feed, even if the milk has flowed out of the nipples. and bite or kill piglets.

Disposal method: a jin of liquor for the sow to drink, the sow will lie down to breast-feed, as long as the sow is breast-fed for the first time, it will be all right afterwards.
