Prevention and treatment of transmissible gastroenteritis in dairy cows with slight dehydration and weight loss
In nine cold days, the daily management of dairy cows is faced with the challenge of infectious and multiple diseases in winter and spring, especially infectious gastroenteritis. Therefore, remind dairy farms (households) to pay attention to observe the diet and exercise of dairy cows, do a good job in advance prevention and control, as far as possible to avoid losses.
Cow
Cow transmissible gastroenteritis, also known as epidemic diarrhea, contagious, winter and spring (November to April of the following year) is explosive epidemic. The causes of the disease: sudden change of weather, fluctuation of temperature, sudden change of feed, mildew deterioration and frozen feed can cause transmissible gastroenteritis in dairy cows.
Symptoms of the disease: diarrhea, loose stool from diseased cattle, even water-like jet outflow, containing a large number of air bubbles, the course of the disease is long, and there are blood clots in dilute feces. In general, there was no significant change in appetite and spirit, body temperature, respiration and heartbeat were normal, and the gastrointestinal sound of auscultation was enhanced. Acute sick cattle, loss of appetite, eating some alfalfa, carrots, or even waste, depressed spirit, eyes absent, sick cattle like to lie down, slightly dehydrated symptoms, lose weight very quickly, some show abdominal pain, curl up, milk production dropped sharply.
Treatment:
First of all, it is necessary to check and adjust the forage and drinking water, remove the pathogenic factors and strengthen nursing.
Secondly, the seriously diseased cattle should be treated in time. 1. When taking water samples in feces, 50 grams of sulfamidine powder and 50 grams of sodium bicarbonate powder can be used, once, twice a day, or 2% dysentery net 10 ml x 7, once intramuscularly, twice a day. After 5 days of continuous use of 3Mel, it can be cured. Tannic acid protein tablets 0.3 g x 200 tablets, once, 2 Mel 3 times a day, or 0.05% potassium permanganate solution 2 Mel 3 liters, once, 2 times a day, for 3 days, the effect is also good. 2. Sick cattle with obvious dehydration and poor appetite can be combined with glucose saline 2ml, 10% calcium gluconate 500ml, an intravenous injection to relieve the condition and increase appetite. 3. The faeces are atherosclerotic cattle, which generally need no treatment, and they recover spontaneously after 2 days.
Third, we should do a good job of prevention. In short, pay attention to cold protection and warmth, reduce stress factors. In order to change the feed gradually, there should be a 10-day transition period. Do not feed spoiled, frozen, moldy feed, rational allocation of diets to enhance the resistance of dairy cows. Strengthen the epidemic prevention and disinfection system, foreign workers are not allowed to enter the production area at will, and the cowshed and sports ground are regularly disinfected with 2% caustic soda solution. Diseased cattle should be isolated and treated in time to prevent and cure infection. Veterinarians and breeders should strictly carry out disinfection operations.
