Cattle

1 etiology: primary forestomach achalasia, mainly caused by improper feeding and management. Such as long-term feeding poor indigestible feed, and insufficient drinking water: or long-term feeding fine crushed soft feed, can not excite the forestomach: sudden change of forage, the forestomach is difficult to adapt; the cowshed is cold and damp, overcrowded; poor environmental hygiene; overwork or lack of exercise, lack of light, so that the nervous reactivity is reduced, the digestive tract is relaxed.

2 Clinical symptoms: acute forestomach relaxation, diseased cattle appetite, loss of appetite, reduced and delayed ruminant, decreased rumen peristalsis, but the frequency was normal or decreased. If the treatment is not timely or improper, it is easy to become chronic. Chronic anterior stomach relaxation, depressed spirit of diseased cattle, not hard rumen on palpation. The initial defecation of the diseased cattle is slow, the feces are dry, the color is dark black, peat-like, the surface is covered with mucus, sometimes mixed with undigested feed, and the back feces stink or dry alternately. There are colic symptoms between diarrhea and diarrhea.

There was no obvious change in the initial symptoms of the disease, but in the later stage, the pulse was fast and weak, and it was difficult to breathe after secondary rumen expansion. The course of the disease is long, the sick cattle gradually lose weight, weakness, rough skin, decreased elasticity, sunken eyeballs, dry nose, swollen limbs, or even lying on the ground, coma and even death.

3. Treatment: in the treatment of this disease, it is necessary to strengthen nursing, enhance rumen peristaltic function, and be supplemented by symptomatic treatment.

4. Nursing: cattle at the beginning of the disease should go on a hunger strike for a day or two, drink more water, and then feed high-quality and digestible hay. If the rumen content has rotted and fermented, it can be inserted into a thick tube for gastric lavage (0.1% potassium permanganate or 1% sodium bicarbonate solution). After the foreign body is rinsed out, put into the fresh gastric juice of healthy cattle (extracted with gastric tube or while healthy cattle regurgitate, quickly remove the ruminant ball from the mouth).

5. To enhance the function of rumen peristalsis: first take the anti-diarrhea fermentation agent, and then use drugs that excite rumen peristalsis. Slow diarrhea to make yeast, take magnesium sulfate, fish stone fat and so on. Can also use paraffin wax 1x 1.5L, bitter tincture 20~30mL, appropriate amount of water, cattle once oral. Rumen stimulants, take bitterness tincture, dilute hydrochloric acid, etc.; can also use vegetative nerve stimulants such as nux vomica tincture, injection of Saikeling, neostigmine, such as antimony potassium tartrate 3g, tangerine peel tincture 40~80mL, nux vomica tincture 15~25mL, sodium sulfate 100g 300g, adding water 1ml once, twice a day, with better results. If the spoilage and fermentation is serious, fermentation agents such as fish stone fat can be added, and intravenous injection of 10% sodium chloride solution 100ml 5% calcium chloride solution 200ml 20% an sodium coffee 10mL can promote forestomach peristalsis and then improve the curative effect. When sick cattle lose their appetite, 25% glucose solution 500~1000mL can be injected intravenously, once or twice a day. In order to improve the biological environment of the rumen and improve the activity of ciliates, the cattle can take sodium bicarbonate 30g once.
