Selection and breeding time of breeding geese: The purpose of breeding geese is to obtain a large number of eggs with good quality, which can be used to renew goose flock and produce meat gosling. Breeding eggs or gosling should be introduced from disease-free breeding goose farms with reliable provenance, and the epidemic situation should be understood from the farm owners. The introduction should be from healthy goose flocks confirmed to be free of infectious diseases. Breeding geese should be selected from the chicks hatched in March to April every year, and then re-election for three times before laying eggs at 70~80 days old, 130 days old, and the remaining breeding geese can be raised. The young goose hatched in different seasons has great influence on the later production performance. The young goose hatched in early spring can eat high-quality young grass due to the gradually longer sunshine and warmer climate. The grazing can be fully exercised. This period gosling grows fast, the physique is healthy, starts to lay early, the economic benefit is good.

The ratio of male and female is reasonable: the ratio of male and female is different in different goose breeds, 1∶4~5 in large breeds, 1∶6~7 in small breeds and 1∶5~6 in medium breeds. In winter or early spring, when the feeding level of old gander is not high, and when the sexual activity of gander is weakened, the proportion of male and female can be reduced accordingly. By artificial insemination, the ratio of male to female can be increased to 1∶15~20, and the fertilization rate can reach more than 90%. In production practice, the specific proportion of male and female should be adjusted according to the fertilization rate of breeding eggs. For example, if there are too many male geese, the fertilization rate will decrease due to competition for climbing. In breeding season, such as low fertilization rate, mainly check the gander, individual unqualified, poor sexual desire, should be replaced immediately.

Increase nutrition, improve egg production rate and fertilization rate: In order to improve egg production and fertilization rate of breeding geese, it is necessary to fully consider the nutrition required for egg production of female geese. It is necessary to prepare mixed concentrate with crude protein of 15%~16% as breeding goose rations. In breeding period, each goose is fed 250~ 300g mixed concentrate according to body weight every day. In order to meet the vitamin requirements of breeding geese, besides grazing, it is necessary to feed more green and juicy feed with high vitamins (such as curly white, carrot, ryegrass, etc.). In laying season, the geese are driven into ponds or ditches in the morning and afternoon to play and breed, so as to improve the fertilization rate of eggs.

Strengthen management work: 1. Goose house must be kept dry and clean. It is best to set up a net rack in the goose house, so that the geese can spend the night on the net to reduce the occurrence of diseases. 2. Set up egg laying box. Specifications are 10 cm deep, 30 cm wide and 1 to 2 meters long. Every 30~40 eggs are arranged in an egg box, and the bedding grass in the egg box is cut into 3 sections by clean straw. Egg boxes should not be exposed to rain and sunlight. The eggs cannot stay overnight to ensure the quality of the eggs. 3. Pay attention to ventilation in the house and keep the air fresh. Do a good job of winter cold and summer heatstroke prevention and cooling, keep geese quiet. 4. Pay attention to reasonable density, 2~3/square meter is appropriate. The density is too high, affecting the growth and development of breeding geese.
