With the development of cattle industry, there are more and more large-scale beef farms, and more and more people use short-term fattening cattle as a good project to get rich. However, there are still many problems in the fattening process of beef cattle, especially in winter. In order to really do a good job in short-term fattening beef cattle in order to obtain economic benefits, several points need to be done:

Beef cattle

Choose good fattening cattle:

Select hybrid bulls such as Charolais, Limousin and Simmental, which are healthy and disease-free, weigh more than 250 kg and are not castrated at the age of 1-2 years old. choose beef cattle with bright eyes, moist nose, big mouth, strong appetite, large food intake, strong limbs, bright coat, long body, deep chest and wide chest.

Adjust the barn temperature:

The barn temperature should be above 5 ℃. If the temperature is too low, it will affect the weight gain and lose weight. In winter, the barn should be kept warm, covered with plastic sheeting, and covered with straw or mud to cover the air leakage of the wall, which not only ensures the temperature in the barn, but also facilitates daylighting. At the same time, the cow itself does not emit too much heat, so that the cow can be fattened normally.

Master the feeding method:

Before fattening, cattle should be rid of internal and external parasites, 0.2 ml of Shengkexing should be injected subcutaneously every 10 kg body weight, or 0.1 g per kg body weight; 3 days after deworming, each cow should take 350-400 grams of rhubarb to Huojianwei powder. To drink enough water, the feed should be coarse before fine, and finally drink water. In order to reduce energy consumption, no grazing, less exercise, house feeding tethered feeding, regular quantitative feeding, regular drinking water. Drink warm water in winter, the water should be clean and fresh, let the cattle eat every meal, especially the roughage, should be fine, and the forage grass should be clean.

Choose a good feed mix:

The feed supply and collocation should be determined according to the weight and weight gain rate of beef cattle to achieve a balanced and comprehensive nutrition.

In the early fattening stage: 6-8 kg of distiller's grains, 2-3 kg of corn flour, 0.75-1 kg of soybean meal, 50 g of salt, 50 g of additives and 20 kg of silage corn straw. When starting to feed distiller's grains, add a small amount, wait for 10 days to adapt and then gradually increase the amount of feed.

In the middle fattening period: 10-15 kg of distiller's grains, 3 kg of corn flour, 1 kg of soybean meal, 50 g of salt, 50 g of additives and 17-20 kg of silage corn straw.

In the later fattening stage: 10-15 kg of distiller's grains, 2 kg of corn flour, 0.5-1 kg of soybean meal (or 100 g of urea), 50 g of salt, 50 g of additives and 15-20 kg of silage corn straw.

Leftover forage cannot be eaten or eaten overnight; lees should be fresh and of high quality, and should not be fed by spoilage, moldy, frozen or sandy soil, so as to prevent poisoning; if urea is used instead of soybean meal, urea should be dissolved in a small amount of water and mixed in concentrate to feed it, which cannot be dissolved in water for direct drinking. Generally, the amount of urea fed to adult cattle should not exceed 100 grams per day to avoid poisoning.

Do a good job in epidemic prevention and sanitary disinfection:

Cattle should be immunized and injected before fattening. The cattle should be brushed 1-2 times a day to keep the cattle clean. Feeding utensils should be cleaned and disinfected twice a day (1 in the morning and 1 in the afternoon). Cattle beds, aisles and walls should be regularly disinfected with fire alkali or lime, and idle personnel are not allowed to enter or leave the barn.

Choose the best time to enter the hurdles:

After more than 3 months of fattening, the beef cattle are fat and strong, the slaughtering rate can reach 58%, the net meat percentage can reach 50%, and the average daily gain can reach more than 1.25 kg, generally more than 500 kg. If the market price is good, it should be sold quickly and sold at a good price, otherwise it will increase the feeding cost, reduce the rate of weight gain, and affect economic benefits.
