Proper fertilization to promote Fertilizer requirement and Fertilizer Application method of High-yield garlic
Garlic root is born at the base of shortened stem, which is a black linear fibrous root. It likes humidity, fertility and cold resistance. It has wide adaptability to soil. Garlic cloves have more roots on the back and less roots on the ventral surface. The main root groups are concentrated in 5-25 cm soil layer with a transverse radius of 15 cm. Loam soil and sandy loam soil with deep soil layer, loose structure and good drainage are the most suitable. However, garlic continuous cropping obstacles occur seriously, and can be adjusted with corn, rice and other crops rotation.

1. Garlic needs fertilizer rules:
1. Nitrogen: low absorption during winter, then gradually increased to bulb expansion period to peak; nitrogen absorption before differentiation period accounted for 30% of the total absorption, therefore, in the middle and late growth of garlic to meet nitrogen requirements can improve garlic yield and grade.
2. Phosphorus: less phosphorus absorption before winter, into winter, change less. The absorption of phosphorus increased gradually from the re-green stage, and reached the peak at the differentiation and bolting stage. Because the vegetative growth and reproductive growth of garlic went hand in hand, the absorption of phosphorus was more and more urgent, which was the intensive nutritional stage of phosphorus absorption by garlic, accounting for 52.1% of total phosphorus.
3. Potassium: Garlic potassium absorption has two peaks, pre-winter seedling stage, potassium absorption accounts for 10.5% of the total potassium, winter period less, into the green period, potassium absorption appeared the first peak, accounting for 26.7% of the total, nearly 4 times the seedling stage; bulb expansion period is the second peak, accounting for about 45% of the total.
II. Garlic fertilization techniques:
1. Fertilization principle: scientific and rational fertilization should be carried out according to soil fertility and garlic needs in different growth periods. Grasp the principle of "light before, heavy after supplement", not only prevent early prosperity, but also avoid early aging.
2. Soil preparation and fertilization: garlic planting plots need deep ploughing and fine harrowing to enhance soil permeability, facilitate soil microbial activities and nutrient transformation, improve soil storage capacity, and facilitate root development and bulb expansion. To harvest crops in a timely manner after the sun ploughing, ploughing depth of 20-25 cm.
Due to plastic film mulching, garlic growth period is not suitable for topdressing, therefore, before sowing, it should be combined with soil preparation to apply sufficient base fertilizer at one time, 2500-3000 kg farm manure per mu, 40-75 kg chlorine-based compound fertilizer, ferrous sulfate, manganese sulfate, carbon black, zinc sulfate, copper sulfate each 1.5-2 kg, first spread.
3. Heavy application of jointing fertilizer: under normal climate conditions, garlic at the re-greening stage generally does not need field management to avoid bacterial soft rot caused by sudden drop in ground temperature due to premature watering, which affects garlic growth; therefore, the first topdressing should be carried out at the jointing stage, and 20- 25kg nitro-compound fertilizer can be applied per mu. After 15-20 days, the second fertilizer will be applied, and the application amount per mu will be about 20 kg.
4. Clever application of differentiation and bolting fertilizer: garlic differentiation and bolting period, nutritional growth and reproductive growth at the same time, strong demand for phosphorus, garlic life is the most critical one topdressing, wait until garlic sprouts (now tail), mu chase 15-20 kg high phosphorus and high potassium compound fertilizer, first dissolve and then flush.
5. Topdressing time: should be carried out before 11:00 a.m. or after 4:00 p.m. on sunny days. Spraying fertilizer type: select 2kg calcium phosphate or 1kg sulfur base compound fertilizer mixed with 50kg water for soaking for 12 hours, take its clarified solution to spray 1 mu; also available potassium dihydrogen phosphate 0.2%-0.4% solution and 0.15% manganese sulfate, 0.5% borax, 0.2% zinc sulfate, 0.15% copper sulfate solution. In the middle and later stages of garlic growth, according to the growth and appearance, foliar fertilizer can be sprayed for 1-2 times at an interval of 7-10 days.
