This week, the southern part of our country will usher in the cold wave big BOSS, in addition to a substantial cooling, but also bring rain and snow days, vegetable farmers need to do a good job of vegetable insulation and anti-freezing work.

Vegetables kept warm and frostproof

1. Strengthen coverage and keep warm and frostproof. Open field vegetables can be covered with straw, sunshade net, plastic film, etc. to block frost, improve ground temperature and prevent freezing damage. Such as lettuce in the garden, spinach, cabbage moss, red cabbage moss, celery, garlic, spring cabbage, Chinese cabbage, etc., can cover the shed film or sunshade net, prevent the vegetable leaves from freezing, after snow should be timely removed shed film or sunshade net snow;

2, greenhouse vegetables, one is to strengthen the shed, prevent strong wind lift film, timely remove snow, prevent snow collapse shed. The second is to cover a small arch shed in the greenhouse, cover the film at night, and cover the grass on the film. Plastic film for skirt cover of greenhouse can reduce cold air attack at bottom. Third, install electric lights in the shed. When the light is weak on rainy and snowy days, turn on the lights in the morning and evening for about 3 hours to improve the temperature in the shed and promote the photosynthesis of vegetables. Fourth, carbendazim, chlorothalonil smoke agent to prevent disease. Fifth, after the weather is fine, take the method of covering the flower curtain, and repeatedly release the wind, and then slowly warm up to restore normal growth, prevent strong light from sudden warming caused by flash seedlings.

3. Fertilize and cultivate soil to improve soil temperature. In sunny days, warm fertilizers such as cattle, pig manure and compost can be applied to the rhizosphere of vegetables to increase the soil temperature by 2--3℃. At the same time, before freezing, combined with intertillage, the hoe broken soil is cultivated at the rhizosphere of vegetables, which can not only loosen the soil, but also protect the root system. The suitable depth of intertillage is 7- 10 cm.

4. Clean the ditch compartment to prevent damage. For water-stained low-lying vegetable fields, it is necessary to ensure that the ditches are unblocked. After rain and snow, it is necessary to remove snow in time, clean up ditches, remove accumulated water, prevent snow from absorbing a lot of heat and lowering temperature when melting, so as to improve vegetable root vitality.

5. Control nitrogen and sprinkle ash to improve cold resistance. Sprinkle a layer of plant ash on the vegetable ground before the cold injury, which can prevent cold and freeze, increase nutrients and prevent root rot of cruciferous vegetables.

6. Set up wind barriers to block cold wind. In the north of the vegetable field, crop straws and the like are woven into a windproof barrier 1-1.5 meters high to prevent the cold wind from directly attacking the vegetables and reduce the freezing damage.
