Recently, the cold wave of the century has swept most parts of our country, rainy days, freezing damage, affecting the growth of crops. In order to prevent wheat from suffering from low temperature and freezing injury in snowy days, the following measures can be taken:

Wheat snow disaster

Fertilizing and cultivating soil: for the wheat seedlings with large hanging roots and poor quality of the whole field, soil miscellaneous fertilizer or soil cultivation can be used to prevent freezing and protect the seedlings.

Early watering: for wheat fields with frozen leaves and unfrozen young ears, early watering should be done to prevent young ears from dehydration and death.

Topdressing nitrogen fertilizer: in wheat fields where young ears have been frozen, quick-acting nitrogen fertilizer should be added, ammonium nitrate 10kg / mu or ammonium bicarbonate 20kg / mu, combined with watering and ploughing to loosen the soil, so that the growth of frozen wheat seedlings can be restored as soon as possible.

Two times of topdressing: the wheat fields where the main stem and large tillers have been frozen to death should be topdressing twice. The first time is to apply available nitrogen fertilizer immediately after thawing, applying 10 kg urea per mu, requiring trenching to improve fertilizer efficiency. Lack of moisture in wheat fields, apply to water. For the second time, jointing fertilizer was applied in wheat jointing stage combined with irrigation and jointing water, applying 10 kg urea per mu.

Increasing the application of phosphorus fertilizer: phosphorus can promote wheat tillering and root growth, and mixed application of urea and diammonium phosphate can be applied to phosphorus-deficient wheat fields.

Spraying Daizhuangsu: when freezing injury occurs in wheat, spraying wheat seedlings with 0.3%-0.5% Daizhuangsu solution can inhibit growth, resist or reduce the occurrence of freezing injury.

Prevent premature senescence: frozen wheat is easy to produce premature senescence in the later stage, which can strengthen the management of fertilizer and water in the middle and later stage. On the basis of the first topdressing in spring, we should look at the growth of wheat seedlings and apply appropriate amount of fertilizer at jointing stage to promote larger spikes and more grains.
