Female goose

1. Keep warm against the cold. Close the doors and windows of the goose house, plug the cracks in the house, add curtains to protect against cold at night or pile stable manure on the back wall of the goose house to keep warm, increase the feeding density appropriately, and keep the egg nest soft and warm. If conditions permit, plastic greenhouses should be built and solar energy should be used to increase temperature.

2. Provide adequate nutrition. In winter, it is necessary to improve the feeding standard and appropriately increase the proportion of cereal feed with high carbohydrate and fat content, so as to ensure the supply of energy, protein, vitamins and inorganic salts and enhance the ability to protect against cold. Its diet concentrate composition: corn 60%, bran 20%, cake 18%, auxin, eggshell powder 2%, each goose is fed 150 to 200 grams of mixed concentrate per day, divided into three times, one of which is in the evening, the night is long in winter, and before the lights are turned off at 10: 12 p.m., one more pellet feed is beneficial to improve the egg laying rate. Geese tend to eat more feed when it is cold, and it is necessary to prevent geese from eating too much fat. Therefore, the increase in feed should be enough. In general, the food intake of geese in winter is about 10% higher than that in the warm season.

3. Replenish the light. The natural light in winter is about 10 hours a day. Electric lights should be installed in the house, and the artificial supplementary lighting method should be adopted to make the actual light up to 13 hours a day from November, then increase by half an hour every other week, and gradually prolong the supplementary light time. Until the light is 15 hours per day and 16 hours per night, the light intensity is about 3 watts per square meter, and the feeding trough and drinking fountain should be placed near the lamp as far as possible, during the light time. There must be materials in the trough and the drinking fountain should not be cut off.

4. Strengthen exercise. In winter, the female goose changes from grazing to house feeding, and the amount of activity is reduced, and the goose is often noisy to make it move in a circle in the house, which can prevent the goose from becoming too fat, promote more eggs, and spread some crushed grass on the ground. sprinkle grain or hang a few cabbages in the house to promote goose activities and strengthen their physique. The sunny weather around noon will drive the geese to the suitable sports ground, bask in the sun more, promote the synthesis of vitamin D, which is conducive to the laying of goose eggs.

5. Release water at the right time. There is a large temperature difference inside and outside the house in winter, so the geese should be released late and early. Before releasing the geese every morning, open some windows and wait for the temperature to drop gradually before releasing the geese out of the shed. In winter, it is necessary to reduce the number of geese in the water and shorten the time of releasing water. Generally, they should be washed at 10:00 and 2pm on sunny days, each time for 10: 15 minutes, cloudy and windless days, once in the morning, but not in the afternoon, when it snows, and then after the snow stops. Before launching, the snow should be cleared along the way, and the snow blocks should be frozen on the goose.
