Last Updated: 2024/11/06, Summer maintenance of carnations should ensure the air permeability of the soil, properly shade the culture, prevent burns, and at the same time pay attention not to stagnant water and control the temperature. The methods of propagation are cutting and sowing. Cutting is cutting the branches from the nodes and inserting them into the substrate, and the seeds should be germinated in the shade. If you are infected with diseases and insects in summer, you should get rid of the diseased leaves and spray medicine in time.

I. Culture environment

1. Soil: choose relatively loose sandy soil or other highly permeable soil.

2. Lighting: sufficient light in the morning and evening of summer breeding, but the hot noon can properly shade the light to prevent the leaves from being burned, resulting in lighter flower color.

3. Temperature: keep the temperature at about 19-21 ℃. If the summer temperature is too high, when it is higher than 35 ℃, it is necessary to spray water around the plant or leaves to control the temperature. The winter temperature is above 9 ℃.

4. Moisture: there is a relatively large amount of water in summer, but there can be no stagnant water, so drip irrigation can be used to prevent root rot.

II. Methods of reproduction

1. Cutting method

Marry off the pedicel, cut off the branches below the proximal node, keep the upper 3-4 leaves, and remove the bottom leaves. Insert the treated branches into the matrix, then pour water through them, and put them in a dark place to take root. It can take root in about 1 month, and it can be cultured in the sun.

2. Sowing method

The soil with good drainage was selected as the substrate, sowed at about 20 ℃ and germinated in about 10-15 days. The newly sown seeds should be placed in a cool and ventilated place and cultured in the sun after they germinate. be careful not to shine in bright light.

III. Diseases and insect pests

It is easy to catch leaf spot disease or gray mold and other diseases and insect pests, if there are symptoms of infection, such as disease spots or gray mold on stems and leaves, diseased leaves should be removed in time and insect medicine should be sprayed.
